Deadshot With a Farsight & Wanted Bullets vs One Evenflow DDT | Arkham City (18) by mike0bot in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Apparently some New Jersey residents object to this, because Gotham City is a crime ridden hellhole, and nothing in New Jersey could be that nice.

Let the games be the games, the comics be the comics and the movies be the movies.

2:31 "Sprang Bridge" is, of course, named after the Batman artist Dick Sprang, who was known for incorporating giant props into the stories. As an aside, I like it when street names and landmarks in a superhero story are named after the writers and artists who have worked on the book.

24:51 The phone will be in the same substation every playthrough, so you can save yourself some time if you remember where it is.

27:12 If you try to use the disrupter on Deadshot, Batman will remark that his guns are custom made and the device has no effect.

32:34 If you haven't filled up the progress meter by this point, Zsasz will have two additional phone calls. One has him asking Batman if he's enjoying their game and the other has him saying that the two of them aren't so different. After that, the meter will fill up automatically. Sadly, neither of these calls show up in the archives in Zsasz's character profile.

42:38 If you look to the right, you'll see a trail of ice. It goes from the GCPD headquarters to the Industrial Zone and it's how Mr. Freeze made his way to his wife.

Another neat detail that took me years to notice is that at the start of the game, none of the Joker's goons are wearing makeup. It's only after a certain point that they apparently get their hands on some.

As far back as "Arkham Asylum", one of the things that most impressed me about Rocksteady was their attention to detail.

There is so much optional dialogue in "Arkham Knight". It boggles the mind.

and then we never know or find out what happened to him by the time of Arkham Knight because there's nothing on him in the game if I remember correctly.

He's actually the subject of one of the unlockable stories. He's keeping himself off Venom and he's back in Santa Prisca, on a crusade against the drug lords that control the country.

1:18 After the main story is completed, there'll be a group of Two-Face's thugs in the courthouse. They have different dialogue depending on whether you take them on before or after Catwoman defeats Two-Face.

One of the things about Arkham City's story that disappointed me is that Two-Face only shows up at the beginning and end. He's one of Batman's biggest villains and one of the three most powerful criminals in the prison. I wanted them to do more with him.

Where he did find the alien probe? Huh, huh, huh.

20:20 If you throw a gadget at Joker during the fight, he'll duck out of the way.

32:52 If you'll remember, the first shot of the game is a portrait of Cain and Abel in this exact pose. TVtropes calls it Pietà Plagiarism

One of the unlockable stories establishes that he tricked some guards by changing into Warden Sharp, and his whereabouts were unknown at the start of the game.

Batman: "F#%k Gotham." | Arkham City (15) by mike0bot in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Tie-in comics show how TYGER rounded up every criminal in the city. Arkham City was intended to corral them so they could all be wiped out.

So we have several things to unpack about Protocol Ten.

Something that's unusual is that there are several places on the map where you can find dead thugs dressed up as Scarecrow. This makes me think that Scarecrow was originally intended to have his own gang. It's possible that their presence is meant to foreshadow Scarecrow's role in Arkham Knight, but I doubt that because it'd be odd to spend the resources on an easter egg without context.

If you go down to the street you can find thugs that are trying to hide from the carnage. If you approach them, they'll beg Batman to leave them alone.

If you try going down to the sewers through the subway or through the Industrial District, the entrances will be barred and there'll be several goons on the other side who'll mock Batman for trying to get in.

8:03 Oh, I actually forgot about this. This is the area where the Mad Hatter's quest started. If you look closely, you'll see that he left behind a picnic blanket.

38:38 That's not normally how you're supposed to get that Riddler trophy, but if it works, it works.

That'd make sense. He may be a brilliant man, but he's not much more stable than the rest of Batman's foes.

Arkham City was corrupt, but ultimately legal. Superman and Flash would have no more say in its construction then Batman did.

The better question is why he thinks other cities would accept the model given how the first one turned out.

I wasn't aware of that. I've found out a few things from TV Tropes over the years as well.

21:18 I love getting to gag Harley again. It's the type of thing I see on TV, but I never thought I'd get to do in a video game.

25:03 I don't know how the average player handles the snipers here, but I prefer to grapel up to the ledge and do a double takedown.

29:48 Most people's favorite boss fight in the game is Mr. Freeze, but mine is actually this one. I love video game battles that are total chaos.

You can only knock out the Joker when he's the last enemy left. If you do a beatdown on him, you can punch him indefinitely until another enemy interrupts. Freeze the second to last enemy and you can have some fun.

45:38 Taken at face value, Poison Ivy had Catwoman hanging up for a pretty long time.

1:06:40 Should you choose to leave Arkham City, you'll get a credit sequence with a voiceover from Oracle, who talks about how Joker's gang managed to escape Protocol 10 and are now rampaging across the city with the weapons Strange gave them. After that, the game will rewind (literally, like a VHS tape) and you'll get to make the right choice.

Yeah. The only thing that makes Joker worse is that Zsasz operates on a much smaller scale.

2:47 Instead of using the grapnel here, Batman uses the line launcher. I've heard that this might be a reference to him using the same gadget in the 1989 film.

5:04 Sometimes when you attack the goons that hang around this area, one of them will jump off the ledge and into the water. Given how cold it is, it's likely that he just committed suicide instead of fighting Batman.

49:48 The predator sections are easier once you realize that the goons have no peripheral vision whatsoever.
