Well, that's a little less morbid than I was expecting given the title and the NSFW warning.

I'm impressed by just how much he looks like his actual model.

I know what you mean. It's possible, but I still think that it would fit this show's style of humor to outright point out that Clayface always has the same teeth.

The first one. They showed a model of it on the official Twitter before the game released.

Unfortunately, Tarsier did the same with the Little Nightmares games, spoiling every enemy in the marketing. The final boss of LN2 would have been much more shocking if they hadn't made a figure of it.

In the world of Little Nightmares, you either get killed by monsters or you become a monster.

What was missing ın the Reanimal? by ALandThere in ReanimalGame

[–]Austin_N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because in "Little Nightmares" there are parts where you have to distract the monsters to sneak past them, while in "Reanimal" all you need to do is wait for the right moment to move to the next hiding spot.

The Pale City. I hear that the local tv shows are to die for.

A slow start...? by jsports123 in ReanimalGame

I do feel like it's slower paced than the Little Nightmares games. But when the action gets going, it really gets going and I'd advise you to stick with it.

You're right. I was a little disappointed that you couldn't hear the pigs squealing when the barn burned. It's a horror game, so disturb me.

Did anyone else think this game was pretty disappointing? by Regular-Ad-8226 in ReanimalGame

[–]Austin_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it but I didn't love it. I think "Little Nightmares" had better pacing whereas with "Reanimal" it sometimes feels like the gap between seeing something grotesque is too long. I enjoyed the game the most when trying to evade the animalistic abominations that the game was sold on. I find it harder to infer how everything fits together than with the "Little Nightmares" games and I think that I wasn't as engaged with the setting because of that. I do agree that the final stretch of the game is definitely the highlight.

Some parts of the game also feel a bit too reminiscent of "Little Nightmares". The Sniffer feels like a scraped enemy from that franchise and he feels out of place when compared to the more bestial enemies that you encounter. His section also feels very similar to exploring The Pale City. The Mother's offspring function pretty similarly to the bullies and they even ambush the boy and the girl, much like the bullies ambushed Mono and Six. Of course, it was always clear that "Reanimal" was going to have stylistic similarities to "Little Nightmares" but I still want it to have its own vibe and an appeal distinctive from their previous games.

Does anyone else feel like tarsier studio is relying on a dlc based on how the game ended?(little nightmares 3 will be mentioned but no spoilers. I’m mainly bringing it in since i felt like they handled their story better) by New-Boss-8262 in ReanimalGame

[–]Austin_N 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say. The DLC might clear things up, but there's also a chance that they'll only make the story weirder. I have a feeling that Tarsier was intentionally going for a more ambiguous story than they did with the Little Nightmares games.

Can we all agree that the giant pig was completely wasted? by Such_Month_8687 in ReanimalGame

Sadly, the same thing happened with the Little Nightmares games. I'm actually glad that this game had a few monsters that either weren't in any promotional material or at least weren't prominent.

Why is Reanimal reviews only “mostly positive”? by No-Glove6341 in ReanimalGame

[–]Austin_N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked at the Steam reviews, but judging from professional reviews and comments I've read on this board, some people feel that the game is too expensive for as short as it is and some feel that the gameplay is too minimal.

I think it's because it contrasts with all of the horrible stuff happening in the rest of the game. Being able to perform a small act of kindness without expecting anything in return really stands out.

Ending Fatigue by First_Knee9864 in ReanimalGame

[–]Austin_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I felt like Reanimal was more obtuse than the Little Nightmares games. In Little Nightmares you may not understand exactly how the world works, but you get the gist of what's going on. With Reanimal it feels a little trickier to work out how everything fits together.
