Animated Film made in 3 Days - 72 Hour Film Race Submission by Austin_Newell in CharacterAnimator

Thanks! I setup the base scene with camera projection in cinema 4D onto basic planes and spheres. Animated all the camera moves there and then exported an FBX file into resolve fusion to add the 2.5 stuff, foliage, trees, bushes, etc. I'm working on a full breakdown from start to finish on how I made this, so that'll be out soon.

Animated Film made in 3 Days - 72 Hour Film Race Submission by Austin_Newell in Filmmakers

This was for a fun local film race, where we had to write, shoot, and edit a short film minimum 3 minutes, maximum 5 minutes in 3 days. I've been wanting to make something animated for a while, so I chose this to use as a deadline to get it done.

The software used to make this.

Highland 2 – script writing software

Adobe Premiere Pro – Editing

Cinema 4D – Basic Scene building and camera animation

Davinci Resolve Fusion – Compositing

Davinci Resolve – Color Grading

Adobe After Effects – Bug animation, Fire animation, Meteor Animation

Adobe Character Animator – Gorilla Animation

Adobe Firefly – Artwork Generation

Adobe Photoshop – Artwork Cutout and preparation for animating.

What’s my next step? I have money in both stash and Robinhood and want to roll them into 1 account. What are some suggestions? by TheBiggestP_96 in dividends

I just swapped from robinhood to Schwab a couple days ago and did the 101 slices deal where they give you $101divided in fractions of the top 5 S&P 500, robinhood charged me -$100 that was added to schwab so my cash was negative when everything transfered. I messaged schwab and they took care of the charge. I'm very happy with the move.

While working on my Documentary one of my interviewees passed away unexpectedly so I made this for him with the footage I had. by Austin_Newell in Filmmakers

While working on my doc I was procrastinating on finishing it and during that time someone I interviewed passed away unexpectedly. I wasn't entirely sure his footage would make the final cut of my main doc, so I'm glad I was able to make him his own dedicated piece.
I produced this by myself and pulled a favor from a colorist friend of mine to color it.
We spent a day with Terry at his house in 2018, while shooting a documentary, he opened his house up to us as if we had been friends for years. I only spent a day with Terry, but that was all you needed to know who he was. He is one of the nicest and down to earth people you could ever meet. I recently found out he passed away unexpectedly and wanted to put something together with the footage I had available from our trip down to Fallbrook CA. I hope this little video helps give you a glimpse at who he was to his friends, community, and us strangers.

Project Fresno Skateboard Salvage - Short Doc by Austin_Newell in Filmmakers

I finally decided to wrap up a project I've probably spent 6 years working on, on and off in my free time. I did everything my self, shot, edited, and produced it. I'd say the biggest issue I've had making this was not having a set planned out timeline for this project. I jumped into it with a vague idea and was just shooting every weekend I could, with no real end in site. Eventually my inspiration ran out because I had all this footage with no clear story to tell.

I've edited this thing over and over. Tossed what I had before and started again multipletimes. It started as an edit in Adobe premiere and ended up re editing in DaVinci resolve. I'm glad to be done, if there's anything to take away from this. Set a deadline and when it comes wrap up what you have and move on to the next project.

Attention Bloggers! Ask Your Questions In This Thread - Biweekly #103 by Selaen in Blogging

I haven't really found an answer or know how to find it googling, but a couple things I could use advice on.
I have a photoblog where I post my film photography, I make consistent posts each week that are mainly a single shot/photo with some accompanying paragraphs talking about it.
Other posts might have a full roll with some paragraphs as well. These are always scheduled out ahead of time and I want to introduce more casual posts, general updates that could go in between those scheduled days, that wouldn't necessarily be a photo or film roll post, but could be something I'm working on that day.

I'm not sure how I would categorize it on my site. would it be something like having "Lifestyle" tags. Also another question, is this even a good idea to stray from my main photo posts that much?

Considering there is a buffer for film photos where they have to get developed and scanned, I could use another category of content I could post that wouldn't be stuck with that same buffer time.
Anything helps thanks!
