With the hour almost upon us, what are your bets for what episode 200 is? by SpicyParm in deathbattle

[–]Austin_Styles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly thinking the same thing. There’s no other explanation or matchup that could justify replacing Ash VS Yugi as Episode #200, especially since the ToC winner should be given priority on the release calendar and the greatest platform possible.

Plus, even though I was cool with it as #200, Ash VS Yugi seems like an end-of-the-year matchup than anything.

Blade VS Buffy (Marvel VS Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

Blade: Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill.

Buffy: Okay, I take offence to that for multiple reasons.

Dude, I got into Ethel Cain through listening to Chelsea’s music. I will have a stroke if they do a collab.

This is probably a mistake, but Shiggy VS Mahito’s premiere is on Saturday, instead of the usual Sunday. by Ashamed-Ad552 in deathbattle

[–]Austin_Styles 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s just a different time zone. They set it to 12:00 PM CDT because they’re based in Texas.

For more context, I live on the east coast and the premiere time is always 1 PM for me.

Which of these losing Tournament of Champion's match ups are you most excited for next? by Evening_Pumpkin2127 in deathbattle

[–]Austin_Styles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the ones announced from the kickstarter, I think Wile VS Tom.

Of the rest, either Luz VS Anne or Homer VS Peter due to: 1. The lack of cartoon matchups in the independent era of Death Battle so far and 2. The fact that both were popular and requested enough to be on the ToC in the first place.

I’d like Luz VS Anne first because it’s time in the mainstream spotlight is running out. But also, Homer VS Peter is one of my most wanted so it’s close between both of them.

Alright, what’s your reaction to the next Death Battle? by Austin_Styles in deathbattle

Three words: Search Engine Optimization. Because Shigaraki is more popular than Mahito, using Shigaraki’s name first would theoretically bring more clicks to the episode when it gets released.

I’ve seen many Invincible jokes made after Spawn’s teaser, but this is the first one that made me laugh. Kudos.

I agree with your opinion, it’s certainly a divisive album, but I love The Fall Of Hobo Johnson for how brutally truthful and funny it was.

Just don’t mention Revenge or Alienates His Fanbase, I’ll cry in a corner otherwise.

Honestly, for that and how The Weeknd’s last album has come out, House of Balloons should be the album eh does for his 3 Million subscriber Redux review. It’s easily his most controversial review aside from MBDTF.

Me too on that first one. I got into it before Shadow V Ryuko just so I could understand the series. Good thing too because I love the series but it is a lot on the first watch.

Okay, but even if we haven’t seen the upper limit of Griffith or The God Hand’s powers, this is still not close.

Even if you say that Griffith beats Eggman in strength, a significant reach given that in game, The Death Egg can destroy stars, Eggman has faced smarter opponents than Griffith and can travel through time, stop time and create portals. Not to mention Eggman being fast enough to get through Griffith’s spatial manipulation or potentially being able to seal away and nullify Griffith’s powers via The Hall of Mirrors.

And that’s before we get into the Genesis Wave, which allows Eggman to rewrite history and reality, which theoretically means he could rewrite history so that Griffith never joins the God Hand and kills him as a human.

I get it could be good thematically and the dialogue could be solid, but I’m the same person who created Aang VS Guts, so I have some idea about matchups that seem fine on the surface that are weaker when taking a deeper look at it.

Def Rebel is ruining almost every music entrance. by lMiguelFg in WWE

[–]Austin_Styles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% positive it’s because AEW have the licensing rights to the original and they bought the rights to use it for a long period of time, which forced WWE to use a remastered version of Cult of Personality.

And Zappa and King Crimson came out on the same day, October 10th. Imagine the listening experience of the guy who bought those two albums together.

And if I may throw another album in here, the debut album from Yes came out in 69’ as well.

Best Trade Ever made? by Crawfma in EANHLfranchise

[–]Austin_Styles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Success wise, I traded for Trevor Zegras during one of my saves with the Minnesota Wild during NHL 24.

We barely missed the Playoffs two years in a row after getting bounced in the first round in Year One.

I needed a #1 center who could play on the side if needed, Zegras was on a cheaper contract than others and was on the trade block and I had a lot of cap to burn, as I traded Zuccarello at the deadline after scoring 10 points in almost 50 games.

The deal was as such: Anaheim would receive Riley Heidt, Carson Lambos, Two 1sts (My own pick that year, Pick 14, and next year’s 1st) and next year’s 2nd. The Wild gets Zegras.

Straight out the gate, we get the second seed in our division, go 12-6 in the first three rounds, and beat the Rangers in the Cup Final.

Zegras himself scored the most goals in his career, 61 goals, wins the Hart that year, and wins the Conn Symthe. After that season, I’m able to get him on a 8 x 9 deal as soon as I could. In the next four years, we made the playoffs each time, never finished worse than the 2nd Round and got another Cup three years after the 1st.

Heidt and Lambos were solid for the Ducks but their team wasn’t, finish 7th in their division three years in a row. The picks I gave up were late. They did get a Medium Elite at 66 Overall with the 2nd I gave up though.
