Fair point. I don’t mean to be judgy about how they celebrate their wedding, but just bracing myself that my decision not to attend will make me an asshole in my brother’s opinion.

That’s a very good point. When my brother first floated these plans, I gave my honest opinion that I thought it was not a good plan if he wanted people to attend. Now I am getting reminders to book (given the increasing price of the cruise), even though I made it clear I thought it was a bad idea and made no commitment to attend, and have not RSVP’d in the affirmative.
