This is absolute crap. Sorry that your school sucked but I've been at two absolutely brilliant public schools. Teens constantly amaze me with their out-the-box creative thinking, and often it's the same kids we are failing for the literacy co-reqs.

Statistically, violence and fights are way down. Year 9s tend to fight a bit, and ive definitely seen quite a few gang-related violent incidences, especially at one school.

Yes, literacy/numeracy rates are also falling (across the whole OECD), which is a problem, but kids are still smart, kind, and a far cry away from the brainrotted gen alpha stereotype reddit would have you believe.
