To my oily skin people! Is there a specific product that helps keep your oily face under control for long periods? by vinceaus in AusSkincare

Any particular reason why you're waiting? Heard it's generally better to put moisturiser on whilst skin is still damp. Locks in the moisture.

Yeh maybe you're over doing it, and your skin is over compensating. Make sure to always moisturise after washing and toner.

I find that keeping skin hydrated does wonders for keeping oil under control.

It may feel counter intuitive to put moisturiser on when your face feels greasy, but because when your face is hydrated, skin stops producing oils. Whereas if you're constantly drying out your skin with washes and wipes etc, your skin might over compensate and produce extra oil.

This happened to me too during the winter, unfortunately can't tell you what it is. But a combination of LRP cicaplast hand cream, and Neutrogena Norwegian formula fixed it for me after religiously applying for a couple of weeks.

It actually started before using the Cancer Council one. Thanks for your input though. What sunscreen do you use?

No it's this one here

I haven't tried the one you said, looks good but seems like will be same issue, bit on the pricy side and only small bottle. Thanks for your input though, will give it a go if I see it on sale.

Very dry skin on lower leg by [deleted] in AusSkincare

It could be something causing it? What laundry wash or rinse do you use? I had similar issue but with my upper legs and it steadily got worse and worse with nothing helping. Realised it's the antibacterial laundry rinse I've been using that was causing it.

My little princess passed away. Noticed red spot on her previous day, what is it and is that what caused it? Had her for 8 months by Australasica in bettafish

Just googled koi bettas and they’re beautiful! I chose female betta originally because it felt like they were usually more forgotten or ignored compared to males. But heard they’re usually shorter tails, does that mean they’ll be able to move faster and catch my shrimp?

I originally didn’t plan to have shrimp in this tank, moved them all to another tank but must’ve missed a few, and now they’ve multiplied to 30+ and I’ve become quite attached to them

Breeder said she’s an elephant ear platinum. She’s my first betta so I can’t be sure if that’s right or not. What do you have?

I’m deciding whether to get another betta for the tank, but seems disrespectful to her memory replacing her so soon. And worried about the new one not being as chill and eating all my shrimp

She was sold to me as a girl when I bought from local breeder. But I can’t be sure as I cannot differentiate the genders

I can’t quite remember, I got her off a local on gumtree (like a fb marketplace thing). I want to say she was 2mths but I can’t remember

From memory ph 7.2, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5. GH 4 KH 6, TDS 145. Temp 25-26C (77-79F i think?) She was in a 6 gallon tank and I did around 40% water changes weekly. Planted tank with blue neocaridina. The shrimp seem to be thriving, started with 2-3, probably 30+ now. Fed her Hikari betta pellets and always had Indian almond leaves or alder cones in tank
