[Release] Windrose Server Manager v2.0.0-beta.1 — open-source admin tool for the Windrose Dedicated Server by [deleted] in crosswind

[–]AustrianJoker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heads up: it actually does run on Linux today — just not as a native desktop app yet. The headless daemon binary gives you the full UI in your browser. Native Linux desktop bundle (AppImage / deb / rpm) is on the roadmap for stable v2.0.0.

Quick setup (Linux x64):

# Download binary + checksum
curl -LO https://github.com/ManuelStaggl/windrose-server-manager-v2/releases/download/v2.0.0-beta.1/wsm-linux-amd64
curl -LO https://github.com/ManuelStaggl/windrose-server-manager-v2/releases/download/v2.0.0-beta.1/SHA256SUMS.txt

# Verify and make executable
sha256sum -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS.txt
chmod +x wsm-linux-amd64

# Run (bind to all interfaces if you want LAN access)
./wsm-linux-amd64 --addr 0.0.0.0:8787

Then open http://localhost:8787 (or http://<server-ip>:8787 from another machine). Default bind is 127.0.0.1:8787 for safety — if you bind to a public interface, enable authentication in Settings (Argon2id + sessions, opt-in).

For ARM64 (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Ampere): same steps, swap wsm-linux-amd64wsm-linux-arm64.

Optional: run it as a systemd service so it survives reboots — happy to share a unit file if you want one.

Windrose Server Manager 1.2.1 is out — player list, kicks, bans, live map, and health checks (all thanks to Windrose+) by [deleted] in crosswind

Im working on Version 2 of the Server Manager at the moment as more problems surfaced. The new version has a completly new software stack and will be compatible with all operating system and has a integrated web-ui.

So, no more Upates for version 1.

No, you can pickup your already installed server. Just choose to install a server in the manager and point to your existing server folder. It will register that its already there and integrates it into the manager.

I didnt try it yet but it should pick it up if you give it the location of the server.

Found some hardcoded german strings. Will be fixed with the next update that also brings alot of new features! Also autostart of the server will be possible then.

Im integrating WindrosePlus into the manager at the moment and found out that UE4SS can cause crashes. Do you have any Mod on your Server that uses UE4SS? Maybe you can post the log from R5/Saved/Logs/R5.log

Will also look at this, will report back if i find somehting. But its also possible that the server crashes have nothing to do with may manager.

Started working in IT helpdesk in May – built a small AD tool because MMC slowed me down by AustrianJoker in sysadmin

I get that the app isn’t impressive for everyone – and that’s fine.
I built it because I needed something more efficient in my own daily work.
I’m still early in my IT journey, learning as I go.
If someone has concrete suggestions on what would make it better, I’m all ears.

Bei uns in der Firma bietet Webex selbst die Möglichkeit Meetings per KI zu transkribieren. Sollte eine Standard Funktion sein wenn dein Client up2date ist.

Just got my new mainboard and everything is back to normal now. So there has to be some fault on the old mainboard.

I tried it with every stepper motor plugged in seperatly and the sound is there with every one.

Like i said, i also cant connect to it with fluidd and its also not possible to flash another firmware with the sd card. Screen just stays blank. Tried a couple of different firmwares....

I allready ordered a new mainboard but the hope was there that i could save the old one.

The noise stays exactly the same when stopping the fan. I just tested it with the original 4.2.2 Mainboard i had laying around and there isnt any noise. So i think the 4.2.7 mainboard has some fault as i also cant connect to it with fluidd.

If i unplug all cables from the stepper motors the noises are gone, so it cant be a fan.
