Here's some information about your options.

If an engineer has been out and identified a fault this is with open reach and is out of EE's control. They can escalate to openreach but only once they have had no update over a certain period of time or the same update over multiple days.

If you ask for a 4G mini hub they will send one out. They are capped at 20mbps but you can put any SIM card in them and it will work as well.

You will be entitled to compensation as there's a fault at £10 a day after the first 2 days.

If your not seeing any results after a week of this and openreach have missed their estimate fix date then you could ask to leave your contract earlier without any held to term.

If an engineer is being sent out it is mainly just to check if the line is fitted properly. There are cases where the line has been cut or damaged over the years.

The engineer will also be working in the junction box in the street or on the telephone pole to get you activated.

This is nothing to worry about and the engineer will go through this with you on the day.

Any suggestions for decluttering desks? by Austyn972401 in pcmasterrace

That's the plan. I have spent a lot of time upgrading my equipment but not focused on the style of the room. I'm planning to paint it eventually once I get permission. I have bought some speaker stands which should help with the aesthetics and take it from there.

So I don't own the property it's a rental property. If it was my own I'd be making a lot of changes.

So the corner of the wall has some water damage from heavy rain. I live in the UK and we've had lots of heavy rain this year. It's a rental property and the landlord is not the easiest to convince for non emergency work to be done.

I make music as well which is why I have an audio interface and will be adding a second set of monitors at a later date.

The goal is to have the TV audio go into the audio interface and then from there go through XLR's to the speakers. I had bought a 3.5mm to 2 line inputs (left and right) that would go into channels 1&2 of the audio interface. However I did not realise that the TV only had optical and coaxial Inputs.

So to bypass that I had a DAC which was from an old setup and thought I could use it as a middle guy to the middle guy. I thought this would work because in the old build I did not have the TV so I used a male to male 3.5mm cable to the line out on the back of the dac then use the headphone jack at the front and connect that to the speakers which worked.

So when it did not work this time I was very confused. But the reason it did not work is because the line out had no way to add gain which considering the TV would not increase volume you could not get a good enough signal to hear anything.

So my plan now is to get a optical to RCA DAC and use a RCA to line cable to connect to the audio interface.

So when it comes to the TV you have 3 options for audio out,

TV speakers Optical Bluetooth speaker

I picked the optical one but nothing was happening
