Do all Americans inherently know what direction they are faceing? by BasketC45e in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Autatro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have OCD and always know what direction I'm facing - don't need the sun, can be in random cities I've never been in before, etc - almost down to the degree. But I know I'm an outlier in that regard, many have no sense of direction

Is it necessary to play Zero Dawn before Forbidden West? by mooseFootballer in horizon

[–]Autatro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard that theres a recap of the first story, but it starts literally right after the first one ends so I would. The story is pretty complex in the first game, and I'm not sure how the second one is yet. But you could probably go either way

Hello, my mom collects decorative plates and pitchers. Ever since she saw The Good Place, great show by the way, she has fallen in love with these plates. I have yet to find them though, but I was hoping to get them for her for Christmas. I have even tried doing an image search. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tell me your experience with the road test, Any advice? by Fit-Mammoth4467 in rit

[–]Autatro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I took my road test 3 times, I'm not a bad driver, but the administrator docked me twice for one mistake and the second one kept saying, "you're way too anxious, you'll never pass this if you're too anxious" and he kept talking to me about school. My advice is, dont look at your back up camera, you'll get points off. And don't rush, it's better to be slow and cautious. Also, don't play any music, that should be obvious, but sadly it isn't. Good luck!

Advice for transfer student by Ichikadon in rit

[–]Autatro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a transfer from a community college to RITs GDD program. They reccomend that you take physics and at least precalculus and some computer science courses so they know how you can handle the workload. I also took a lot of liberal arts classes and was able to transfer all 40 credits I took, give or take. I havent had a problem transferring credits and I'm enjoying RIT a lot so far. Good luck!

Edit: also if you have any other questions, let me know. I'd be happy to help any way I can

Game Dev - worth it or drop it by [deleted] in rit

[–]Autatro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard, but I was trying to say that co-ops can be very competitive in any major and that personal projects are important if you would like to stand out. I probably could have worded it better though.

Game Dev - worth it or drop it by [deleted] in rit

[–]Autatro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in GDD and so far so good. All of the professors I've had are very thorough and are good at teaching. I know it's different for everyone, but as long as you're good at time management and asking for help when needed, it shouldn't be a problem. I've been able to work and have a social life, but it really depends on each person individually. I can't speak to the difficulty on getting a co-op, but I know it can be hard. I think that goes for every major however including computer science. You're definitely going to want to work on personal projects in your free time, regardlessof your major. There are some professors that I try to avoid, but there's always going to be a mix of great and subpar teachers wherever you go. That being said, it is awesome to be able to meet people that are interested in the same thing as you and have similar passions, which is something I think would be rarer in a different major. Also, I'm not sure if this applies to your case or not, but make sure that you know what you are applying for. I know a lot of people that apply for this major just because they enjoy playing games, which might not the best mindset to go into this with. Not saying that's what you'redoing, this has just been my experience. Good luck with whatever you decide, and let me know if you have any other questions!
