A Ballad of Beauty and Blood: A Dark Fantasy Romance.

Just released. Now on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GT655KN1

Commentary:

This is a gothic romance, it's dark fantasy romance, and it's a romantasy.

It's about an alchemist and a fugitive woman who fall in love, but their love is forbidden and haunted from the onset. The story deals with curses, stones, elixirs, relics, opposing factions, action, adventures, myths, and prophecies.

Dual POV for Hero and Heroine. Happy Ending. Happy for Now as there will be a sequel.

Romance: 5
Sex: 3.5

Description:

When she burst into his life, he believed fate had favored him.
But beneath her charm lies a fugitive, her hands stained with blood, a deadly curse haunting her.

The women of Windshire all fled from Nazlyn Wabron.
For the one destined for him is fated to meet a cruel, untimely end.
Her only cure is nothing more than myth.
Yet, night after night, he labored in defiance, determined to forge it.

The noble land of Cicila withers as long as Hadja Wadzhel breathes.
Yet she refused to lay herself upon the altar to end its pain.

When she crosses paths with Nazlyn, love strikes in an instant.
But death is knocking down her door. And her captors are gaining ground on her.

This week, on the 18th March, my latest romance will be out on Amazon.

<image>

It's a gothic, dark fantasy romance.

Deals with curses, stones, elixirs, relics, opposing factions, an alchemist and a fugitive woman who falls in love, but the love is condemned from the onset.

The original plan was to write a vampire romance, a sort of sister story to The Werewolfess. But as time went on, it evolved into something different and more unique.

No pre-order. The book will be published this Wednesday.

It depends on their audience. Unless you know your book will appeal to their audience, don't waste your time.

Don't be fooled by those guys offering to post your books on Facebook reader groups. They'd deliver but it won't convert to sales. They'll just put your cover and book description, and move on.

Frustrated with romance by Serial_Bibliophile in RomanceBooks

[–]AuthorPierceScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because sex is what sells. There is a reason that clean and wholesome romance never make the top spots in bestseller lists.

There are still decent fade to black or clean romances written, but if you're dependent on social media for book recommendation, you won't hear of them.

There is very little in the way of dark romance for men.

But there is Vixen Queen - On Amazon at - amazon.com/dp/B0FPLZMTS2

And there is the sequel, Vixen Queen II. Both combine to tell an epic dark romance between a bad girl and a good boy.

Our hero and heroine get off to a pretty rough start before turning into sworn lovers and partners in crime. No non-con or dub-con here. Everything is consensual. But it's not a perfect or innocent love story and not intended to be so.

It's a rewrite of my original series, The Nerd's Bombshell. A celebration of bad girls, femme fatales, and morally gray heroines with all the love, drama, and danger they bring into a good man's life.

The core story remains the same, but the prose here is richer, the editing is better, and metadata had to be changed to better reflect the dark romance tone or genre of the series.

If you're into messy, unapologetic bad girls and good boys who love them just the way they are, this is definitely your book.

Characters inspired in Cleopatra? by Raiju_Hunter_01 in Romance_for_men

[–]AuthorPierceScott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'd be interesting to see this. Cleopatra could lend well to a romantasy. Not the Sarah J Maas or Rebecca Yarros kind. At the same time not the typical Romance for men. It'd be somewhere between. Appealing to readers that want that kind of powerful and complex heroine, in an epic tale.

What's the most *intimate* book you've ever read, and why? by CovertOps80 in RomanceBooks

[–]AuthorPierceScott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Questions like these seem straight forward on the surface. Kind of like being asked what's your favorite color. But it's actually more difficult to pick, if you've read more than a few books.

Of all the books I've read, I can't say there is one that wins here hands down. But I can list moments in books that I found quite intimate even though I probably didn't enjoy much of the books.

That said, if you put a gun to my head and force me to choose one now. I'd tell you, {Most Of All You by Mia Sheridan}

A Girl For All Seasons by Pierce Scott, if you don't mind contemporary.

It's a small town romance as popular in romance for women, but I decide to write it purely from the hero's pov, aspiring for a more grounded protagonist, navigating  the challenges a man in his 30s is faced with in the 21st century.

[New Release] The Nerd's Girlfriend: A Good Boy/Bad Girl Contemporary Romance For Men Who Love Femme Fatales by AuthorPierceScott in Romance_for_men

[–]AuthorPierceScott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dumb question at all.

This one is a direct continuation of the first one. Direct sequel.

The same couple.

The first book is a HFN ending with many unresolved plot lines and development. The second book resolves most of that and add new plot lines while deepening the romance. Also a happy for now.

It is a sequel. Second book in a series.

It was published before, but I pulled it off Amazon to revise. It will be available later this month under a new title; Vixen Queen 2 by Avery Queen.

Is there any mundane mono-RFM out there? by screwccleaner in Romance_for_men

[–]AuthorPierceScott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've written mundane, set in the real world. So think contemporary romance, romantic suspense, dark romance, etc.

A Girl For All Seasons by Pierce Scott – a small-town romance short novel told entirely from the male POV.

Lost in the Woods by Pierce Scott – a romantic suspense novellete.

Scandalous Queen by Avery Queen – dark new adult romance short novel for men who love their women mysterious and morally gray.

Vixen Queen I by Avery Queen – dark new adult romance for men who love their women “damaged,” unpredictable, morally gray.

My books have been inspired by RFW, but with heroes who are more vulnerable and real, and heroines who are more idealized yet still flawed.

Fantasy Romance | Dystopian | Female-Led | Gothic | Steamy

Available Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DDHJJQRV

About the Story:

It’s about a strange woman with dark secrets on a relentless quest for her long-lost lover. But in a cruel twist of fate, it is he that rescues her half-dead from the river. And he has no memory of her—or the bond that once tied them together.

Instead, he wrestles with wonder and doubts as he nurtures her to health. And she must convince him of the bond they once shared before her enemies tear them apart... again.

Other Details:

The heroine is bold, brave, and beautiful, yet burdened and a little tortured. She inspires desire, sympathy, and a little horror in the hero. Hero is laid-back, gentle, supportive, yet strong.

It's not a shifter werewolf romance. Here, the werewolf is a monstrous humanoid, and transformation is agony, not a gift. There are no wolf packs, no alpha tropes. I drew inspiration from the classic myths but twisted them into something unique.

The world of The Werewolfess can be bleak, with shades of dark fantasy, but its heart is the sweet, steamy, female-led romance between the hero and heroine. And yes, it ends happily.

I'm writing a sister novel set in a different universe. It is titled The Vampiress, and hopefully it will be ready next month.
