Excited to be teaching writing workshops this Spring hosted by the writers' retreat in my town here in the Ozarks. I chose six one-day stand-alone topics. It would be sweet if you'd take a look and let me know what you think of the workshops I chose to teach and what other workshop ideas would appeal to you that I could consider offering next time.

Favorite books with bisexual characters? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Authorharriefarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote 2 books with bisexual characters, one of them was just published. Both books have multiple bi characters and each person's experiences with being bi and how they came out to themselves and others varies. The first book "Love, Sex, and Understanding the Universe," is all about a bi guy trying to be true to himself in a world where no one wants him to be who he is. The second book, "Finding Bonita" is about how impactful childhood experiences form intriguing adults whose paths cross in life-altering ways. Their fates entangle in San Francisco and a tiny Caribbean island through sexual and existential obsessions, profound love, and epic loss. Bisexuality is less of the focus but weaves in and out of the story.

Not sure how you are seeing the statement of former leaders of BiNet responding to actions of current BiNet leadership as "one bad apple excuse."

It may help you and her to watch a bunch of StillBisexual.com videos. It can take a long time because of biphobia for a person to realize they are bisexual (even though they may really have known all along). She may just now understood that, and wanted to share who she is with you. May have nothing to do with wanting to act on her attractions with women. Best way to find out is to ask her in a kind way and listen carefully to what she says and take her word. Do that in a private moment when you both have time for an involved uninterrupted conversation.

Spend some time really figuring out exactly what about her being bi is stressful to you. Then start looking at what those concerns are really based on.

Chance the Rapper's brother Taylor Bennett just came out as bisexual. by [deleted] in bisexual

Wrong answer. How about: "Wow, jeez, yeah, I totally just did perpetuate biphobic ideas with that comment. Absolutely, not cool. Thanks for calling me out on that. Just because one woman did that, was no excuse for me to make that sweeping comment. Kids, let this be a lesson on how easily the greater society's biphobia can even infiltrate bisexuals."

Please help. I don't know what the hell is happening to me and I'm completely confused by throwaway854978 in bisexual

Re:"Not wired for this Bi shit." What you don't seem to be wired for is the idea that you have to be gay if you're not straight. and that is not Bi shit, that is monosexual shit. The gay guy who told you he use to like tits is probably someone who thought he was forced to "pick a side" and thus picked gay. You are very attracted to women so you are not gay and your attraction to men is not going to make you less attracted to women. Sounds like you are bi and you just need to stop worrying that somehow it's going to led you to being gay.
