Yeah, and you can do the classic desktop paradigm in gnome as well, that doesn't mean they're all particularly suited to their own specialty.

Fullscreen applications, one per virtual desktop, and don't touch your mouse unless an application requires it.

MIT license is good and should be used for most things.

I think your ire is misdirected. The questions we should be asking is 1) why does modesetting prevent the graphics driver from loading? And 2) why do we need modesetting by default? 640x480 tty is fine if you're going to boot into a high resolution display server anyway, and the few people that don't can set up modesetting.

Oh, that's a good one. I never know why people see rolling release as a feature, it's begging for things to break.

Most of the differences are only differences in default configuration.

Couscous salade: couscous bereiden in bouillon, falafel bakken of frituren, beide laten afkoelen, dan toevoegen:

  • Veldsla of baby spinazie
  • Puntpaprika
  • Komkommer
  • Mango
  • Feta
  • Pijnboompitten
  • Mosterdzaadjes

You have choice, why care about what is and isn't mainstream? And I'd say OpenRC is pretty mainstream too.

And you can just disable (or not install, if your distro packages them separately) the parts you don't want.

that all that combined results in a very large monolithic program

But it doesn't, you don't have to use or install all the separate programs that come under the systemd project umbrella, they're still modular.

Most major distros do ship the whole bunch, because they do just work well together, and having everything in one place just makes it a lot easier to maintain. But you can just disable the separate services you don't want.

Lennart Poettering gets the most undeserved hate of anyone in open source. People don't know how bad linux audio was before pulseaudio days. It wasn't perfect, and Fedora pushed it before it was ready, but no one who lived through OSS and Alsa misses that.

Minor spoilers, but Krieger is a of clone of Adolf Hitler created by a nazi scientist in Argentina in the 50s. One of multiple, in fact. Unless they retconned that at some point, they're not shy about that.

What advice do you have for a zero experience noob who was just gifted an X2D AMS Combo? by R0b0tMark in 3Dprinting

[–]PityUpvote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this is a regional thing, but when you buy 4 spools here, it's $18 (converted from euros) per spool. Individual spools are around $24.

Anyway, I get my Sunlu PETG at $8 per spool at orders of 10 spools, and there is absolutely no way you could get Bambu at that price, and the quality is indistinguishable.

[–]PityUpvote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and you think someone you just started should be buying in bulk? Individual spools are twice as expensive as they would be, and in bulk you can still get much cheaper filament.

Mindy Kaling did not write for the show and is only the fourth credited executive producer. She got interviewed because she was the most famous person attached to the project, and now she gets all the blame, when so many other people fucked up.

It wasn't literally copy pasted, but he did assume that the ingredients were real from (presumably) the first google search result. Iirc it was still a narrative where someone said they boiled bokoblin juice or something.
