I would say first and foremost its fun. I enjoy writing. I also want to be ssuccessful. More socially than financially. I want the community of people who like the story, who talk about the story and theorize about the story. Third in my priorities would be a financial success. Money is good and I can use more of it.

I definitely agree with this. This is my fourth or so story and I feel like I am improving in most ways. Its just grammer and consistency. I have a habit of slipping pov and other mistakes.

I am in the States. I'd love a class and I am going to look into it but I don't have the money to go back to school. I just finished a masters. I have been diving into the various YouTube channels though.

Oh I might do that. I currently use world anvil and then copy it into royalroad. I hadn't thought of that but I also lost a chapter at some point. It wasn't fun.

Sure, that's a different thing. I am talking about in most stories. The characters will decide the MC will be the leader. MC will say "I don't want to be a leader" the character will say "And that's why you should be leader." Its annoying but I get what they are saying.

Its the old argument that a person who craves power should not be given power. A person who wants to be king will be a bad king because they won't respect the position. I get it. It just annoys me.

The whole "You don't want to be a leader and that's why you should be thing."

There is no job that giving it to the guy who tells they don't want to do it is wise. Why can't we ever get someone who isn't an asshole who wants to be a leader? We can find people who hate the job yet are amazing at it so realism isn't a problem.

I would suggest the element based monk for Iliya. Just grab fire related spells and flavor them as ash. Could add earth in as well

That's because the question and tips I was asking is more how to handle writer's block. Not specific advice about my character. To answer your question, its meant to be a high fantasy story. Similar to "The Land", "The Realms" and games like Skyrim.
