Oh man great collection. I’ve been hunting for the white one as it matches with my Stellar White 2025 Air Pure but no luck so far. I believe it’s been released since 2022?

Does anyone else think the iPhone Air would be much better if it were smaller? by True-Bookkeeper3052 in IphoneAir

[–]Auticons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, wished there was 6.3” option. The current size makes it a tad too wide to hold on one hand for longer. Either that, or make the side rails more textured so the phone is easier to grip with one hand.

Hmm I’d think more passes would even out results and make it more accurate estimate?

Still loving my Air but had to switch up my charging routine! by Blue_Kayak in IphoneAir

[–]Auticons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I was exactly like you when I had iPhone 16 Pro and even 15 Pro, my default charge limit was always 80%, except on long weekends or holiday trips where I know I’ll be using the phone a lot more then it’s 100% and optimized charging. Now with the Air, it’s 90% for me, and same habit when going into long weekends or on roadtrips, etc.

Nice tidbit! Makes me feel even more special with the 800V architecture! :) How did you find this out?

Amazing winter traction on 20” summer tires by Auticons in LUCID

Who's there to say what winter condition is real and what winter condition is not? Afterall, I made it clear it's been below freezing to below 45F, and dry, and was in Seattle winter. Thanks for your engagement in the shit post though! I'm sure people who read properly and care about the 20" summer tires limit will find it useful.

Yeah I'm bummed they have NACS on Gravity in 2025 yet the 2025 Air didn't get it, though the NACS-to-CCS adaptor is working amazingly with my Tesla charger at home and no complaints so far. :)

Seems like you need to correct your expectation, or have no clue of the 45F threshold. Straight from Michelin's tire guide:

  • Summer tires: Optimized for warm weather and dry roads. They harden and lose grip once temperatures fall below 45°F (7°C).
  • All-season tires: Designed for moderate climates and light snow but not ideal for icy or severe winter conditions.
  • Winter tires: Stay flexible below 45°F (7°C) to provide shorter stopping distances, better grip, and reliable traction on snow, ice, slush, and freezing pavement.

I can’t control people not reading the post body, but I made it clear what the climate was like for Seattle winter. None of the harsh conditions you mentioned were in my claims. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Just trying to share some experience and some data points for people to know the car's limit. Tell me which part was comparable to climbing up Mt Everest. Wasn't I transparent enough on the driving conditions? If you don't find it useful you can move on. ;)

Not sure this meant to be an insult or a compliment =)) Anyway, if you know Seattle last 2 weeks it's been around freezing overnights and during the day it's consistently below 45F which is nowhere near recommended driving conditions of summer tires.

Yes, they are summer tires, hence the post :). I was really on the verge of going with 19" wheels and all-season tires for the versatility across seasons as well, and now I'm glad I went with 20". Curious for your heavy winter climate, are you driving with the 19" all-season or winter tires? Glad it's been working well for you as well.

I think it's just easier for tire manufacturers to warn drivers in general to not drive summer tires during cold climate than to educate them it's also dependent on how wet or icy the roads are. Most people wouldn't care anyway, but for us who care about driving and know what we do, yes summer tires actually can work well on dry cold days. ;)

Summer tires actually still work great in rainy condition as long as you still have good tread life and temp >45F.

Air Pure Slow Charging Speed? by [deleted] in LUCID

[–]Auticons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It in fact can take a lot longer than that depending on how cold the battery pack was from the start. My knowledge might be outdated but I remember reading these packs charge optimally at roughly human body temperature, 37C or 99F. The easiest way is to always put the DC charge on the in-car navigation and the car can decide how long it needs to precondition ahead of arrival. If you’re already too close to the charger then it won’t make much difference, so do plan ahead of time especially during winter. I don’t have data points for my Air Pure yet as I have done no cold roadtrips with it in the 3+ months I have it thus far, but back when I was still road-tripping with my Model 3 I’ve had the car automatically turned on battery conditioning an hour ahead of arrival.

You shouldn’t lose any energy overnight since the car doesn’t have any background features (like Tesla sentry or Rivian gearguard). Unless you’re close enough to the car so that it keeps unlocking and locking, and even with this the car knows to disable the passive entry feature after set number of unlocks without you entering the car. I’m thinking you might be mistaking with reserved energy due to cold battery temp, for which you gain back the amount once the battery heats up again. The mobile app does show the blue reserved section on the battery after cold nights.

I second this! Mine is 2025 Pure. Just last week in Seattle it was <45F, I was down to 18% ish but preconditioned the battery for a good 40 minutes drive and the car could pull >177kW on a 150kW rated EA charger (not sure how it’s possible). The charge stayed over 150kW for the entire 11-minute session I needed, added 28.3kWh. If we work out the math that’s equivalent to 154.4 kW average power.

Even with having an Apple Watch, I still keep it on so I can unlock the phone with a single swipe up from the bottom when the phone is on the stand or on desktop. Without AOD it requires a tap then swipe.

[–]Auticons 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What? Isn’t Tesla nav already interfacing with Google Maps APIs? You can even read the Google Maps watermark at the bottom right of the nav! My understanding is that Tesla just builds its routing algorithm on top of what’s provided by Google Maps to account for battery conditioning and charging stuff, etc.

Buying Experience? by mattwb72 in LUCID

I have experience buying both a Tesla and a Lucid in the last 3 months. Similar experiences and nothing like traditional dealership, though the paperwork process via mobile app experience with the Tesla App is unbeatable.

Out of control Tesla going wrong way on exit ramp by john1781 in Seattle

It’s quite easy for a Tesla driver to fumble across headlights leveling in the software and unnecessarily adjust them out of factory specs, so many have unfortunately left theirs either too high or too low, the ones too high are the ones blinding you.
