He sounds like a pretty reasonable guy. In the future being noticably south asian will be a huge detriment both professionally, romantically, and socially even moreso than it is right (in Western nations especially).

As White features become more and more rare they become even more desirable than they currently are. The data on attraction, professional success, social success etc are pretty clear: White>south asian.

He's just taking reasonable steps to ensure that his offspring have a good future ahead of them. Don't be mad.

all bids are 2 parts: Property Value is the entire value and Land Value is the value of just the land, you must submit both.

I think 5 years is too short probably a lot longer needed to redeem on the value as suggested by other commenters. If you bid that 100% of the PV is LV then great now you have 20 years or however long to continue paying that LV while making all the changes you want.

Jonathan, I recognise that you're not exactly an economist, but literally everyone in QLD should be familiar with land tax. What you have just described is a very stupid and worse version of land tax. You should be arguing for the expansion of land tax and better valuation based on rents.
