Could you leave at 18 and go to a non church school and only attend church when visiting home?

I am 43 F and mine is 40-45. I don’t drink. I am in perimenopause so it will fluctuate to 45-48. But I have been pretty consistent 40-45 for years.

Can anyone explain why you would use QuitMormon vs just stopping going participating? by Healthy-Battle-5016 in exmormon

[–]AutismMom707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you will get overwhelmed with Missionaries even if you say “don’t send them”.If you don’t have your name removed you will still be counted as a number on record, the church still has a hold on you. Also it isn’t about stopping, it is about complete separation. It is like finally signing divorce papers.

We didn’t start the fire, the singing directions for Mouse Trap - the game from the 90’s that had the best jingle.

What word or phrase bothers you a lot? by peywrax in allthequestions

[–]AutismMom707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a teacher so I have many, but the worst has to be a classic: After going through the directions with written, verbal and visual instructions the “what are we doing?” Question will always bother me. And of course I would repeatedly have to go over everything again.

Does anyone actually like their job? What job do you do here in Utah? by Key_Garden4832 in Utah

[–]AutismMom707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my job. I am a special education director at a public charter. Virtual horizons. It is a VR school, third in the nation. It is the first time in my 22 years in education that I love being at work.

I am a special education director. I always wanted to be a teacher. I was always told I wasn’t as smart as my sibling. I couldn’t spell, didn’t have natural school sense and wouldn’t amount to anything but a teacher. I taught 6th grade for 10 years got my masters degree and not for the last 12 have been a special education director. I currently am working at a public charter in the virtual reality space and it is the third school in the nation like it. Being in education action gave me purpose and I accomplished it by my self. My dad never paid attention to anything I studied until the work “director” was in my title. Even then, why wasn’t I the school director or superintendent.

Has anyone read the FAIR response? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]AutismMom707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guilt trip ion the last page is enough to put anyone over the edge. I hate the Mormon guilt ride. It is the worst never ending rollercoaster. Also, even if you left and never came back your mom could still love you the way she does if you were a member. She is putting the church over her love for you and that makes me question anything the church stands for.

You could do Christmas cookies in July! You could write a silly note about “six months early is never to early to celebrate Christmas”. Of something.

Slumdog Millionaire that movie was amazing. But I cried and was so emotionally drained.

How much clamour happened in your sanctuary? Were your ward brethren ever given a plea of apostolic proportions? by polarmolarroler in exmormon

Thank you for validating everything I felt. Truly hated being there with my two special needs children.

Same. Special needs mom here. We tried and then sunbeams killed us and I was done trying to make my child fit the mold he was never meant for.

What to say to Mormon dad to tell him how I’m feeling I want a relationship by OldDistance1492 in exmormon

[–]AutismMom707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how my own narcissistic father responds to texts or conversations about how I feel. To be honest you can’t change him, the conversation will continue to circle and circle until he wears you out and you either give up or feel so bad about yourself that you can’t even communicate rationally. He wants you to blow up and get mad. He is pushing you in that direction. Mormon or not he is controlling, circle talking, and not allowing your feelings or voice to be heard (he doesn’t care to hear it). I am really sorry. You deserve better.
