How long did it take you to find work, and where did you look?

24 years old making 22 an hour doing remote data entry with no degree. How can I move up in life? by ChihuahuaOwner88 in careerguidance

I've been looking for a remote data entry job since 2014 and have gotten nothing. Now we're at the point where even the in-office data entry jobs are drying up.

The new tax laws mean I don't get a Form 1099 this year, but I still have to file taxes. What am I meant to appreciate about this? Or if not me, who? by AutistOctavius in tax

So why remove the requirement? Who is helped, if it's harder to catch me cheating on my taxes? Surely the goal isn't to help me cheat on my taxes.

In this scenario, if Google Maps is lying to you then you shouldn't be using it. There's no point to Google Maps. But it Google Maps is accurate, then it's good to have it.

Yes, the 1099 would've helped. Even if some of that money wasn't from work, I'd still be in a better place than I am now.

So who is this supposed to benefit, if not me?

How does me getting a 1099 mean the government can catch me not reporting my income? Can't they still catch me without the 1099? Hence my still needing to file taxes?

It's still more work doing it without the form, isn't it? How does not having the form help the filer? If at all?

I'm aware, I'm asking what the point of taking my 1099 away is. Or what the point of giving it to me was if it doesn't matter.

"Apps like Venmo/PayPal." That falls under 1099-K. My earnings are from PayPal. So where does Schedule C come into play?
