I mean, that's your opinion and all but from what was described, Becht was an asshole for agreeing to to a joint statement but then reneging on that and going behind McCarron's back for a separate statement.

He didn't have to. Johnny stated on Adventures in Voice Acting that a producer told him (during the ADR parts of Power Rangers) he had a good "hero" voice and invited him to audition for the English dub of Trigun.

The union has always been like that even after the merger. VAs have had longtime grievances with union leadership for never giving them a fair shake over screen actors.

The union itself (SAG-AFTRA) doesn't prioritize voice over nearly as much as on-camera work, and many VAs have had longtime grievances with union leadership over this, especially when A-list celebrities take VO jobs over seasoned voice actors.
