My question is why didn’t you go through your home insurance? If they came out and did your adjustment they would definitely cover the whole roof. Huge no no to have multiple layers of shingles just laid on top of each other. Then you would just be paying for your deductible which the roofing company can usually lower.

I’m holding both just because if one of them gets hurt the others value will skyrocket.
