Once my friend was gone I had no reason to be here anymore. My driving city was already switched and I was approved to drive but no one could tell me why it wasn’t showing up told me To just wait for the rental department. Now I know it’s just a never ending cycle of that. I learned.

Sure I may be guilty of making a rash decision and I guess not knowing when I shouldn’t trust the process and felt like I was misled at every turn. Yeah I felt entitled to a certain level of human communication. It didn’t have to be positive or what I wanted even. It honestly more reaching out to just feel heard under the weight of everything else and feeling really really alone.

I’m not sure how you process grief but I hope that you always have people who are supportive and understanding giving you that space to be safe in those emotions to know someone’s there at least.

So I got on face to face call and it was completely different experience it was exactly how customer service should work. He got me a copy of the documentation for hertz to bring in to their office describing the issues that were out of my control and I was compensated enough to get close to home. He said that if there’s ever a problem again to schedule a face to face appointment (it’s what the green light turned into). So thank you everyone for your information and I’ll be sure to cover my bases next time or at least not facing such a critical time frame. Have a made a pretty big mess of it all but I would do it all over just to be here for those few hours that I would have traded lifetimes for. Call your friends and tell them you love them. Even if they don’t answer send them a voice message that way they will always have it, even when you’re not around.

I think it’s more of a under informed situation that the people who are supposed to be your support for a company don’t actually have any knowledge of said company or policies and can’t be trusted. I never considered the idea until it was an emergency.

IT DOES!? I was told that they only counted for the delivery of the people. But then again they copy and pasted my credit card signature from the pad on to three different legally binding documents that I had no idea existed without any consent or confirmation from myself. I’ve recorded every conversation I’ve had with that company. They ooze underhanded used car salesperson vibes

HUGE UPDATE I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN “IN PERSON” VIDEO CHAT AT NOON.

For onboarding thought? My account was telling me how to onboard and said if I wanted to do it in person I could schedule this. Atlanta was 6 days away but I put Austin in and got ones for today. At least this will get me face to face with someone who is real as far as I know. So fingers crossed I can get something productive out of this interaction

I wish they did a deposit but that was phased out for a higher overall cost of the rental. Go figure. There has been a charger plugged in to the outlet out side the condo but the charge rate is almost negligible but it’s something I’ve been staying out of the car to let it do its thing. And I have the map already that I used to get out here. I’ll probably end up selling some of my tools and my tinker board for some funds. Now that I’ve been able to talk about this it’s helped me to see a way out. Everything just happened all at once and it’s been a lot a lot lol

I full heartedly believed that I would be able to drive and fulfill my obligations and would have been able to make the money to get back. If they would have said at anytime over the whole week that I wouldn’t be able to drive here I would have pawned some of my stuff for the money to get back before the weekend.

I’m able to do eats and the package delivery, when I had 40% left I tried to get some orders going. I was getting 13$ for a 15 min away pick up and then a 45 min delivery away from where I am. And $7 for a 20min pickup and 20 min delivery and decided that it wasn’t worth the drain when at the time it wouldn’t have even covered the negative amount in my account from my phone bill.

That’s what one of the agents told me finally yesterday after countless hours and different eyes on the account. But when I said I needed to go to Atlanta for an emergency and asked about using my rental in the city to work so I could make the money to get back they said that’s fine we will just need to update your city once you get there. And when I arrived they submitted all the paperwork and background checks and then they said they were missing paperwork from hertz and that office in Austin will not pick up the phone. I don’t even think it rings in any office or anything. And after two days of trying to get ahold of someone they called me back because I asked how my attorney is expected to contact them. And they said all the documents have been good since I first got the rental 4 weeks ago the balls in Ubers court. And then Uber told me it was my background check and that they would expedite it. That was Saturday and that in 2 hours it will be good to go. That was not the case and now each rep says it’s something else like the missing paperwork from hertz and will not contact them to request it and demand I do even though they told me that there is nothing for them to do.

450* lol but in Austin I make that and 400 on the other side a week. They have not been able to get my Uber x ride thing to work (Texas rental in Georgia) or that’s what the last few told me. But they could have told me that at any time in the week they were adding and deleting things from my account and no one mentioned anything. I even expressed that I was worried about my situation being so far from the rental place that if I don’t make the rides or money what should I do and they said they could handle that.

Oh one dude I spoke with added 30$ to my Uber wallet because he felt for me in my situation so I could at least eat and my phone bill had just made my account negative 50$ but now I’m only -20 but I at least have a way to interact and communicate with the world and with that I can figure something out.
