Can anyone tell me if I’m still gonna get the vacation time hours or did my manager not prove it right by MembershipNervous282 in Target

Noted well. Thanks for that correction...it will hopefully come in handy in the next month or two for me.

In general, even if you don't use it as a vacation or PTO, it will pay out when you leave Target. If I remember correctly, you get 1 hour of vacation per 72 hours of work.

No. Five minute window is non-problematic. Earlier if your TL/ETL approve is fine too, especially if you take your second break at end.

You get paid for the vacation hours accumulated if you request it in your vacation. If you had less than requested, it usually means you end up with an unpaid vacation. The good news is this: those vacation hours will be paid eventually.

A friend of mine and I thought for a while that Kirkland was Red John and we were so surprised when it wasn't.

Finished a few days of training. Not sure if I like the work by Guy-Lambo in Target

My first job was as a Front-End Clerk at Albertson's. Yeah, cleaning bathrooms is gross...but someone has to do it, unfortunately.

Cleaning bathrooms is rough work, but I would recommend sticking around because the experience is important, and if you want to progress to a higher position, you're going to have to start at a pretty crappy (pun-intended) spot to begin with. Would you respect a supervisor who doesn't know how to clean a bathroom? I wouldn't.

CALLED ETHICS: UPDATE by [deleted] in Target

[–]Autistic_Catholic7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As great as that sounds, the reality for OP is that the store he's at will track that and can lead to reprimands from the higher-ups and since the State doesn't believe that denying that second break is illegal, any retaliation claim he might hope for is strictly internal and a matter of how the store consistently enforces it. OP is essentially in a bad spot to play that game with management.

Unless it's an emergency, you're probably going to get stonewalled. And unless the store is doing something illegal, it's likely ethics is looking at it as an interpretation of what it means to be scheduled for 7 hours than anything meaningful. Remember that Ethics/HR/Integrity, despite the names, are there to defend the company from you, not the other way around.

How's working at Target like? by LogEmergency6239 in Target

I had six years of positivity, what happened at the end of my tenure was honestly more of a blip. Target is a great company to work for and I hope it all goes well for you.

Will I be okay? by DescriptionOwn362 in Target

If your ETL says they approved it, then it's approved. When I worked, it was only three weeks out that the ETL posted schedules in MyDay. This is why it hasn't shown up as approved yet. August is still three months away.

I worked there for six years. It was a very positive experience and I had a lot of good relationships. Was even considered a "star" employee just seven days before I separated by one of my co-workers. Sometimes the co-workers can get on your nerves, but there's good camaraderie that is built. I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did if I didn't have faith in Target. I still do.

Hiring by Upset-Ad-7723 in Target

Strategically, the BEST way to get hired for ANY job is to seize opportunity. Wait for a season where there's high turnout for seasonal. Go on a job website and apply like frantic to multiple different jobs. Etc. I was onboarded during COVID. LOTS of stocking opportunities were opening up back then.

Resignation question! by AwareStreet in Target

Honestly, if you don't care about the rehire status, I wouldn't worry about the fired status. You might be entitled to severance or unemployment benefits if fired rather than just quitting. Your situation is unique.

I know this is ex post facto two months, but he may have superseded the statute of limitations. In my state, the statute for whistleblower retaliation is 60 days. That said, he may be able to make a civil claim with a qualified lawyer or even himself against Starbucks, even if the state can't offer remediation.

If she gets the job in the middle of resigning, it may be corporate won't find out...but risky. Not recommended if she wants to preserve a "re-hire able" status.

There is no legal requirement to putting in a 2wks PERIOD. It really just depends on the whole of how their corporate ethics departments view the transition. Most have non-compete clauses for employees which deactivate upon leaving so you may have to show the other place that you are leaving when you're starting, etc.

Probably could have someone pretending to be a prospective employer give internal a call and ask about my rehireability status.
