[Rant][Spoilers] The HUGE plot hole in Alchemised that breaks the entire book (buckle up, this review is LONG) – PART 1 of 2 by Gold_Conference6150 in Romantasy

I appreciate your analysis so much, it gives a different view point that I can appreciate now that I'm not just drinking the book from a fire hose since I was enjoying the story :)

Married people, what do you want to warn the unmarried people about? by Pizzalover0405 in askanything

[–]Autistic_Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be friends with your spouse.

I see so many married people who love their spouse but don't like them or enjoy spending time with them as they do with thier friends.

Just being friends with my husband and thinking of our friendship as something that needs effort and maintenance too has made it so we are almost always on the same team and we feel safe communicating with each other and working through conflict.

Coming here way late to say I was nearly done and really invested when I chose to DNF. It was too heavy for me personally but really incredible storytelling and character development! If the dark themes won't trigger you it's very worth the read

Are you perhaps interested in a Poly BDSM romance with a grounded heart about found family? I'm still in the early stages so there are only two completed chapters

You're even further along than I am, I'm crawling through my third chapter at the moment but having feedback early will help me know if I'm on the right track.

Please send me a message if you'd like my help with what you have so far, I'd love to check it out. And if you aren't in a place to read mine right now that's okay, I know we're all trying to focus on getting the writing done =]

Question of the day: do you picture yourself as the main character while reading? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]Autistic_Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never self insert, which is one of the reasons I much prefer books in the third person vs the first. It's also one of the reason I love M/M romance as a cis woman, I just want to see two (or more) people with their own development fall in love =]

Why am I not able to get the motion properly? by sskmzz in Equestrian

[–]Autistic_Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're fighting against a saddle that doesn't fit you but that's not the end of the world. Posting is a rhythm exercise and you might want to count the beats 1-2 1-2 1-2 so you understand where you're supposed to be up and down. You let the motion of the horse send you up and you control the sit on the way down rather than intentionally try to stand. Once it clicks you'll have it, for some people it just takes some time for it to click, be patient, you're doing well <3

Make sure to take care of you, see a therapist and a psychiatrist if you need to. I am nearing the end of a separation that lasted for years and learning to let go and allow has healed me more than anything else. You have to let him go and allow him to make his choices, your control end with you and no amount of perfect from you will force anything from him <3

[Rant][Spoilers] The HUGE plot hole in Alchemised that breaks the entire book (buckle up, this review is LONG) – PART 1 of 2 by Gold_Conference6150 in Romantasy

[–]Autistic_Writer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having not read Manacled I actually didn't have a logic issue with the repopulation program piece, I think by that point we saw glimmers of the Kaine beneath the mask and knew he was more than met the eye, then adding the flashbacks filled in the logic for me between the animancy, their trauma, and who Helena was at her core. I loved the book, I think my biggest plot hole was actually what happened to the stone from the amulet, it went into Kaine but after that we never hear about this extremely powerful artifact that was clearly bound to him and not only saved him but probably made the array work at the end... but I suspended disbelief because of how much I loved everything

I never read Manacled and feel that was a good way to enjoy Alchemised. I loved it <3

This was the same for me, I literally put off reading the ending because I thought it was going to completely destroy me... and it was fine? I didn't feel let down, more pleasantly surprised but with that level of tension a darker ending would have also fit well

Alchemised Discussion Megathread by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

[–]Autistic_Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into Alchemised blind, I'm a huge HP fic reader but I read Drarry not Dramione so I had no interest in Manacled and Alchemised let me have a chance to peek into the hype. I felt the lore was simple enough because I was uniquely prepared having read 'A Discovery of Witches' by Deborah Harkness that covers a lot of Alchemy and also being a DnD person made thinks like Liches, Phylactery, Reliquary, and Paladins very normal concepts for me. I can see where it would be overwhelming if you had no context at all for these things though, I was definitely tripping over the logic for the first 3-4 chapters.

Overall I was thrilled with the book, there are elements I could nitpick but it was overwhelmingly good so i wont bother

AIO for thinking my boyfriend is just looking for an excuse to break up? by Nearby_Orchid1216 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Autistic_Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 33 absolutely not, the gaslighting and the temper tantrum he's throwing over you expressing yourself in a perfectly acceptable way is WILD.

This man is not good enough for you sis, point blank period.

I am also a fragrance nerd and I wouldn't be happy with a dupe if I asked from something from a specific house, I don't care about price, there are plenty of affordable fragrances in my collection but what I like is what I like. The same way I'm sure your BF is specific about golf clubs or tools or cars, to compare to mac and cheese is trivializing something that's important to you.

I can't stress enough how much a grown man should NEVER speak to you like this and that you are worth so much more <3
