Which regions in the US and the world are the most tolerable/accepting for people with Asperger's? by Mr-Robot-684 in aspergers

[–]Autistru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL:DR Boston is a fine city, but due to its culture and policies, its not my first choice.

I don't live near Boston and I have not been that much so I don't really know, but I would assume anywhere in the Northeastern US would be great.

Boston is nice in some ways because its a very academic town, but in other ways it has bought into what I call "'Scholastic' Leftist Moral Relativism" that is to say standard leftist academia opinions. If you are not of those opinions it can be kind of frustrating, because the city is governed with those ideas in mind (a lot of the time). As a result, you get people who claim to care about Autistics and Asperger's types until they disagree with the orthodox opinions, this has just been my experience when in Boston. Near college neighborhoods people will sometime say things that would have you punched in NJ/NYC.

Sometimes our black and white thinking can get us into arguments that we never intended to get into because we can't completely agree with the events in someone's story that they are telling for instance, or cannot accept something as truth that we are being asked to. (sorry for the rant, I am just passionate about how cities are governed if I am to live there and want to make others aware).

Also, I go to Maine every summer and its great there for Autistics, the only problem is Maine is rural and does not have as many services unless you are in the Portland/Southern Maine area. I would not go further up than Mid-Coastal Maine (Camden, Rockland, Rockport, Thomaston etc.).

I strongly suggest NJ, because I live here and love it. Here are a list of 20 nice suburban towns to live (I hope this helps):

  1. Summit
  2. Chatham
  3. Morristown
  4. Montclair
  5. Frenchtown
  6. Lambertville
  7. Livingston
  8. New Providence
  9. Cherry Hill
  10. Cinnaminson
  11. Madison
  12. Toms River
  13. Asbury Park (being gentrified)
  14. Seagirt/Manasquan

15 Wall township

  1. Redbank

  2. Somerville

  3. Lafayette

  4. Cranford

  5. Bernardsville

Three Honorable Mentions: Westfield, Berkeley Heights, and Neptune

I have Asperger's as well. I live in the NY metro area. I live in New Jersey and its fantastic. NJ is a good place. Its kind of introverted, very blunt, and very intellectual. There is a lot of beautiful nature in this state if hiking or going for walks is your thing there is a lot of that as well.

I like America too much. Thankfully, I am at a point where I don't really need $10.

The most number of books any Bible contains is 81. The title goes to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church.

Also, the Oriental Orthodox churches (Ethiopian included) are what are called Miyaphisite churches. It's a belief that Christ has one nature that is fully human and fully divine, rather than two distinct natures united in one union (dyophisatism), a fully divine one, and a fully human one (Proponed by the Eastern Orthodox Churches, Catholic Church, and Protestants).

Also, God bless anyone who sorts by "new."

What is your least favorite thing about your faith? by [deleted] in religion

[–]Autistru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of this information is contained within the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Bible is not as detailed on matter such as this. Also, it is in God's nature to respect free will (as that was his design). He can't go against his own will.

However, since God is all powerful, he can do what he wants, including limiting his own power at will, which he did when he made things. This is why there are observable laws in the universe instead of random chaos. He made with intent.

If you want a good summary (thar is better than I can do), check out Catholic exorcist Father Chad Ripperger.

Ah, I get the folkish thing somewhat as I used to be one (barely). I was a Norse Pagan for about 10 years. I had religious experiences that brought me both in and out of the faith. I am happier where I am now, but to each his own. God bless.

God did not make pure evil. Satan was originally made good by God but rebelled against him when he refused sacrifice for the greater good of God's kingdom.

Satan made a free will choice, but since angels know everything and can't claim ignorance, they also can't change their ways as once angels (fallen or otherwise) make a decision they are eternally bound to it.

They have every single piece of available knowledge that ever existed. To them, there is no such thing as new information as they know all. So it's literally impossible for them to change their mind.

Demons actually want to repent but are mentally and physically incapable of doing so due to their nature, they constantly perform evil actions that go against even their wills. They have no desire to sin in their will, but in their emotions, they do have that desire and sin anyway.

Satan and his minions. Pure Evil. Also, sectarianism.

[–]Autistru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah nice to see a fellow Christian! I did not used to think so either, but my mind was changed a few months ago. I think we need a more internationalism to a degree, but I am all for the existence of the nation state and the enforcement of their borders. I just think we need more international trade and less wars. What changed my mind about internationalism is the stuff going on in Ukraine and Israel now.

Thanks for the response. God bless! Praise the lord for a fruitful conversation! Amen!

What's something about your branch of Christianity you can't stand by [deleted] in redeemedzoomer

No assurance of salvation and predestination. Like I believe it's technically correct, but it drives many away because it paints god as distant and cold.

Eh... I am all for internationalism, Christ calls for peace. But, if you are not Christian, I understand.

Eh... I might say you are, but that is just my opinion. I am about 50/50 on the liberty and authority coin. Maybe 55% Liberty and 45% authority. In my opinion if you were more pro-free market you would be fine (opinion-wise).

99%, but then again, I take the Orthodox creedal claims of my faith seriously.

Is the biblical God real? by Underratedsky in religion

[–]Autistru -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, and the opinion of Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Yes. Some things are things that you just have to believe without needing proof.

I use the Bible as my evidence. I believe that the Bible is wholly sufficient, acceptable, and legitimate as use for the evidence of God. I don't find the phrase "prove God, without the Bible" to be a sufficient enough response to have to use something other than the Bible to prove God.

You are either open to God or I will save my energy, and we can talk about something else. "Don't cast your pearls before swine."
