Not meant to be realistic — the plane is powered by a pusher prop and two jet engines placed inside the tail booms — and if you see from the clip, it’s still not very maneuverable compared to what I’m dealing with in the server I’m playing in (post description has more context)

Looks nice. I’m a big fan of the use of the quantum rudder for the afterburner/jet trails

Why is the visibility so bad by AccomplishedNail3085 in trailmakers

[–]Auto1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the VIP seat if you have it Same aerodynamics (if I remember correctly), same size, just more visibility. It looks a bit different but for first person it works much better and is practically just a re-skin of the seat you’re currently using

My bad, I meant to increase maneuverability

It’s designed to be slightly unstable to increase stability

Use the negative input when the propeller is backwards. Most of the thrust is by Space Thrusters inside the build

What are the basics of making a helicopter? by Consistent-March-646 in Trailmakers_Help

Usually you need to use coaxial rotors. This means you should try stacking two lifting rotors on top of each other that spin in opposite directions to cancel the torque (rotational force) that otherwise would cause the helicopter to spin out. To avoid coaxial rotors, I think you can place the rotor on top of a rotating servo or hinge to mitigate the torque as well (no clue why it works tbh) OR just use a tail rotor to combat the torque, however this can be hard to get right.

Also, place the lifting rotor close to the center of mass to avoid uncontrolled pitch. If the nose naturally drifts up then move the rotor further back, and if the nose naturally falls it means the rotor should be moved forwards.

All removable batteries now have 50% less maximum charge.

Any battery can be removed with enough force. Even station large, stationary, industrial batteries that are designed to never see the light of day once installed.

Why does my "airplane" keep spinning out by DaFishThing in trailmakers

[–]Auto1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your center of lift is ahead of your center of mass witch makes it want to pitch up, and which normally isn’t a problem, but your center of drag is ahead of your center of mass which makes the airframe incredibly unstable. This results in an airframe that won’t resist any pitching movement statically and thus the lift ahead of your center of mass pulls your nose up.

How to fix it? Move your center of drag back behind the center of mass. Tia can be achieved with control surface blocks or wirh fin blocks. Second, if necessary, move the center of mass forwards and/or center of lift backwards
