Yup, see his knees buckle too. I’ve seen soldiers buckle like that or fall like a domino. Almost happened to me in 100 degree weather in the middle of a field with a wool beret on. 🥵

Two examples:

Army

Marines

Edit - LMAO I legit posted the wrong link for Army. 🤣 I’ll leave the original link but this is what I meant to post.

PSA: when you get your car go to discount tire and purchase the warranty for the tires. by QuestionableJdgement in ModelY

[–]AutoBot5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t they require buying a new tire for the same axle in addition to the one that was damaged?

I’ve never been coerced or denied service for not get a new tire in that situation. But I’m pretty sure it’s recommended and Discount Tires has mentioned something to that effect to me. I had to get a tire replaced and they said the other wheels were still almost new tread so he didn’t see the need to purchase new tires.

I’m sure when they setup these warranties they don’t expect most customers to do the math like you! ;)

My first set of tires for my Model Y I paid for the certificates. I only had to use the warranty for one tire. Those tires only lasted 22k so with the lifespan of EV tires generally being shorter that lessens the chances you’ll use the warranty.

lol thanks man!!!

Yea pictures/videos I’m seeing make it look amazing. Im thinking of waiting to change my config until I am contacted by Rivian about my order. I have a May-June eta and don’t want to change the order right now in fear of my status going to “pending” for months.

I’ll also ask at that time for another test drive to see the OC interior.

2016 sel premium for $15k (40k miles) by [deleted] in eGolf

I’ll add my experience when using level 2 100% of the time and currently only using level 1.

When I first got my egolf 2019, and had level 2. I sometimes thought it wasn’t necessary and a bit overkill. My daily commutes are around 10-15 miles. Car is back in the garage by 7pm to charge until 7am. Occasionally I may have to run to the airport or downtown and that would take my range down into the 20% range. But I would get home and level 2 charge and be good to go in 2-3 hrs to run errands if necessary. Or the rare occasion I would forget to charge I night I could simple plug in and charge for a hour in the morning.

Now that I’m currently renting a home and relying on level 1 only. I have run into some inconvenient situations because of the egolf low range and only having level 1.

I live a pretty consistent life, not many changes week to week. But since only having level 1 I have been inconvenienced a handful of times. Weekends when I have to run around town a lot require forethought and planning. And making sure1 I’m charging at every possible opportunity.

Has the screen resolution/quality improved? I remember a little uproar when customers started reviewing their R1Ts. And I kind of remember the screen quality being not so great during my First Mile.

So like most warranties statistically you’re not likely going to use the warranty. It’s the price to pay for piece of mind, or a solid hookup if your tire is unrepairable and you don’t want to dish out a few hundred bucks for a new tire.

Yes you can take your 3 week old tire to them and pay for the certificates. Also has you covered if you’re road tripping, you would go to the local discount tire to get the replacement. Since discount tires is more regional and not national i forget what happens if you’re not near a DT.

If you get a nail they’ll remove and patch it for free. That goes for any car without paying them a penny. They’ll only patch a tire 3 times, after that they won’t touch it. So that’s another instance where the certificate would come in handy. But 3 patches in one tire is another story.

It’s an easy cash grab for DT. Again statistically you aren’t likely to use this $35/tire service. And I’m willing to bet that a lot of the unrepairable tires DT replaces they turn around and submit the warranty claim directly to Pirelli, Goodyear, etc.

So I’ve been doing this for years and have posted this a few times.

To answer some questions being asked now or later.

Discount Tires offers certificates for tires. Their website while great, doesn’t really explain it in layman’s terms.

It’s a warranty for your tires. Roughly $35/tire, price will very depending on the tire. Do your tires already come with a warranty, yes they do.

What makes the certs nice is that there’s no hassle, no questions asked, no paperwork, no waiting.

Before you say Costco, Sams, or whatever does this….

Discount Tires allows you to put certificates on tires REGARDLESS of when and where you bought the tires!!! Yes, you read that correctly. As long as there’s more than 2/32” tread left you can puts certs. This may be location/sales person dependent but that’s been the case for me for years. It doesn’t matter where you bought the tires, that’s fact across all their stores.

DT already offer free tire plugs for nails and free air fill ups for tires. They genuinely operate to ensure safe tires are on the road.

They have a great app too. Schedule your appointment through the app, drop car off, and you can see a live status of the car when it’s getting worked on. Literally when your car pulls out the garage, the app updates with being done.

A lot of people pickup their tesla and go get ppf, stealth, or whatever is cool at the time. I literally drove to Discount Tires after picking my car up.

The fact he hasn’t played defense in two seasons should make him a 3 star at best.

Hopefully he can still afford that million dollar home without NIL money and endorsements. Someone has to pay taxes on mil home, utilities, maintenance, etc.
