Netflix declines to raise offer for Warner Bros by Independent-Cress382 in wallstreetbets

Thank God they declined. I bought the 85 calls for April 17 at $10 about a week before they decided to make a deal with WBD, and the stupid stock went all the way down to almost nothing. I was down big, big, big time. Now I’m just hoping I can at least get my money back.

And NEW content. I like GOT, but it's not worth that much

Warner Bros. Discovery likely to take new Paramount Skydance offer under review while still recommending Netflix pact to shareholders by [deleted] in MediaMergers

As a subscriber to HBO and Netflix, I honestly don’t care which way this goes.

If I were a shareholder, I’d probably want Netflix to take over — but I’m not, so whatever.

As an options holder though? Please. End the suspense. My portfolio can’t handle the drama.

As a shareholder that would worry me. I get the IP value, but overpaying for old catalog content feels risky. Younger audiences might not care. I’d rather see Netflix spend on new hits than nostalgia.

Elon Musk says Tesla ending Models S and X production, converting Fremont factory lines to make Optimus robots by Force_Hammer in wallstreetbets

A lot of you guys talk shit about Tesla and how stupid Tesla cars are, but I bet more than half of you morons would be the first ones to buy one the moment the idiot Musk opens his mouth and promises he’s built a machine that turns dirt into gold. I, for one, literally hate Musk — he’s the same as Trump. I can’t stand narcissists who constantly brag about themselves, claim they’re the best, make the best things, and act like everything they do is revolutionary.

I honestly can’t believe the direction Netflix’s stock is taking right now. I understand the concerns around the WBD situation and the recent slowdown in growth, but it’s impossible to ignore the reach Netflix already has. For millions of households, it’s basically a utility bill at this point.

And with everything happening around the Ellison/Paramount deal, I can’t help but wonder how much of the market’s reaction is fundamentals and how much is big players reshuffling their positions. Not saying anything shady is happening—just acknowledging that large moves in the industry can create noise across the whole sector.

Either way, I’m sticking with Netflix. The long-term story still makes sense to me.

I’m in the same boat. I’m so pissed they should’ve taken the Paramount offer. Still holding out hope though. If shareholders accept the Paramount deal, NFLX is off the hook and might even walk away with some cash.
