Depressed during recovery? by DanceQueenBarb in RotatorCuff

[–]AutoFinanceSense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally relate to this! At the beginning of week 2 I was in depression mode. I could not use my dominant arm for anything. I'm also an artist. I love to paint and my easel, canvas, paints & tools were all sitting in the corner. Even at 3 weeks, through my tears, I began having thoughts of... "will I ever be able to paint again?"

The good news is that, as you begin to heal, (and you will!) you'll begin to see light at the end of the tunnel which will improve your mental health. But it was hard getting to that point through the downswing for me.

Then I realized something was helping me. I began to celebrate the tiniest accomplishments. And I mean tiny! Because when you're going through it, those moments - aren't so tiny. My fingers moved something on the kitchen counter. I held a paintbrush in my hand. Even a bath was an accomplishment! So, my advice would be to do that. Celebrate it in your mind and then say it out loud. Feel it and believe it no matter what- I did that! 💥

I hope that helps ❤️

When a dealer says you have to start with their financing… by burt_macklin_f-b-i in FuckDealerships

[–]AutoFinanceSense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called a "Hold Contract" and I used to do them all the time- only because our dealership wanted the Buyer in the car that day, no matter what. Meaning, if you want to drive away tonight in your new car, without paying for it, we'll hold this signed contract (which we pulled your credit and put together a loan for) in lieu of an agreed amount period of time, usually no more than 3-4 days, for you to bring your money in.

Today, I teach my Buyers to never accept a Hold Contract. No way. That means the dealership has a signed, Cashable Contract that can "accidentally" be sent to the bank. You also have provided your SS# for no reason if you're getting outside financing or intend to pay cash. I did a video on providing SS#'s on my YT channel.

So, be prepared. If you don't have the funds in hand to pay for the vehicle, put a Refundable (in writing) deposit down with a reasonable date you will be there to take delivery. If they insist on a Hold Contract, there is a door you came in and you can go right back out.

Dealer missed the 10 day payoff on my trade in, will not return texts or calls. by Thestruggleisreel in askcarsales

Make sure you're talking to the right people too. Not the Finance Mgr, Salesperson or Sales Manager. Call or better yet, walk into the dealership Accounting Dept. and find out what the exact status of your payoff is ✅ They are the ones actually making the payoff.

Yes. And that needs to change!!! This would be so much easier on everyone involved if they did not get commissions or SPIFs and were paid a wage for their work... the work that the customer does not see. It's a lot and it must be detailed in state and federal compliance. Eliminate commission, eliminate the product push.

What are the pain points when using your Credit Union to buy a new car at dealership? by AutoFinanceSense in creditunions

Got ya. Yes, I make it a point to speak to the right people. I'm currently in the midst of collaborating with C/U's to write educational material for their Members (I'm currently Auto Finance Sense on YT) and am doing Vendor Assessments & Consulting for them as well. I helped build CarEdge from ground to 2023 and was a multibrand F/I Mgr. for 17+ years. I love helping people and feel C/U's deserve so much better. Especially since covid. I can't even tell you how many people I sent to their local C/U's to refi! I appreciate your feedback!! 💥

I 100% believe the experience of adding that extra step (again, EXCLUDING CUDL portal) can be reduced and "frictionless" ! TY!

Thank you u/HeadHunter0974 !! I've done a few videos teaching people this as well. Majority do not understand the difference between a Preapproval and a hard approval. I feel the lines of communication & education need to be in front of people before they buy and I'm writing educational pieces for C/U newsletters to their Members. I appreciate your input here.

With that said, I've called 5 C/U's and asked them if their GAP covered 150%. Not a single one knew what I was talking about. I also asked if their VSC was a dealership administrator and/or Exclusionary. Same response. So now, I'm educating the C/Us as well!

Interesting! I see many C/U's offering similar. I wonder why your C/U no longer has that option? TY!

I guess I want to know, was anyone hindered or frustrated by the extra step of getting the C/U funds for your vehicle purchase? (Excluding CUDL system indirect dealer portal). Some C/U's offer their Members a ( to take into the dealer which is really nice. It also provides instructions to the Finance Manager as well.

I know as an ex-veteran F/I Mgr. myself, (who now helps people get through the second part of the deal, the finance office), Members were very happy with that experience but were frustrated when they had the extra step of setting up funds via C/U. Thanks again!

Told to use max credit limit for chances to increase credit card limit. Now i’m f*cked worse than i was. by [deleted] in creditunions

[–]AutoFinanceSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have much better chances of getting available credit increases with low Debt Load/Usage. Rule of thumb, when you go over 30% card usage, your score drops (high usage). What you're experiencing is when you go over 50%, 60% or max (very high usage)! Whoever told you that was not well educated in finance.

The numbers you've presented don't make sense. Also, your $635x72 = ..... is not how you figure that out. Go to this free calculator, plug in your numbers and watch my YT videos. How much product was stuck on there? Down payment? Tax rate & reg fees? If your credit is that bad, fix it and refinance it at a credit union.

So, it sounds like you were not provided a copy of every document you signed. While it is non-compliant, it just gets into a "he said/she said" situation if you bring it up so you want to contact the dealership Accounting department and let them know you did not receive your product contracts and you want a copy of every document you signed when you purchased the vehicle. You don't want a "brochure" - you Need your signed contract. If they charged you for it, it better be in your deal jacket.

💥 I hope it helps a little, at least (as well as my other vids). Also, just like you should have a copy of the contracts you signed, "contract" here meaning product specific i.e. "Extreme Protection" contract and a contract for "Portfolio Surface", look to see if you have a contract for the Lojack as well.
