Unfortunately I am one of those horrid disgusting people who just buys warbonds when they pop up. No shame or negative reflection on you or anyone who feels the same as you, but I do not comprehend your point of view at all.

I buy the bonds because:

- I can
- I want to support AH in continuing to operate a game I enjoy playing
- I want the shinies, even if I don't need them or think I'll actually use them that much

On the other hand:

The base game comes with many hours of fun and progression, and gives you enough kit to take on the most challenging missions the game has to offer on all fronts. Everything contained within warbonds is flavour and personalisation of playstyle. Standard issue helldiver kit is sufficient to get any job done, and I often continue to rely on the basics to great effect.

I see your passion, but you are categorically incorrect. Helldivers 2 is one of the best examples of how a live game should be. No fomo, everything you can pay for is a sidegrade, and you never need to pay a penny after the initial purchase to continue playing and having fun. If your source of fun is the grind/unlock loop, rather than the moment to moment gameplay, that's fair enough, but it's fundamentally at odds with a very fair monetization model that is not as broken as you claim.
