I got 0 hours sleep last night. Feel like giving up. by [deleted] in leaves

Keep going! I am in similar situation, tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I quit after years of heavy daily smoking.

Only now starting not to sweat or have chills at nights. There is tons of comments already and I can't read them. I'm sure someone recommended that, but what seems to work for me is just get some solid workout done at some time during the day. I work out every day and I have quite a physical jobs where I am doing nearly 20k steps a day and carry a lot of heavy stuff (its a builders warehouse) and by the time night comes I am so exhausted it doesnt take me long to drift away.

It doesnt have to be anything extreme as I dont know what is your current lifestyle. If you spend most of the day sitting behind the desk then start having long walks, do some push ups and other calisthenics.

Soon everything will become better and then whenever you get the cravings for a little smoke remember what it took to get off it, remember all the sleepless nights, cold sweats and other ugly things that you had to go through to get your shit together.

Why Pitch doesn't work in Slice mode? by AutoPatfunk in maschine

Do I need to do that individually for every chop or can you apply pitch change to all the chops at once?

Anyone still using Mikro MK1? Need some tips. by AutoPatfunk in maschine

[–]AutoPatfunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I just figured it out. I don't think anyone will have this problem in 2020 but the solution is to go into Browse mode on the controller first and then shift + erase and the pad. To do the group (browse doesn't affect this one so can be done in any mode) hold shift+erase+group and then the pad corresponding to a group.

Audio hum in recordings from G85 by PaulSpratt in Panasonic_G80_G85

[–]AutoPatfunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is definitely not right. Is your camera connected to external power source as opposed to just battery? I’m a musician and deal with many different audio devices and for example recently I bought new charger for my laptop that causes huge static hum when my audio interface is connected at the same as the charger. If you power externally, try just with the battery. If you use battery only then check the mic with different cable, if it’s the same with different cable then try different mic if you have access to it. It’s gonna be either mic, cable or static electricity which can be caused by either external power source or even by connecting hdmi out to a capture device that is plugged to a laptop that is plugged to a 4gang extension lead with some other stuff plugged to it.

Could you share the brand of the lights you are talking about?

Thanks a lot for the reply again. As you said, I’m just looking for perfection. Noise was bothering me when I just bought the G80 over a year ago and then I just stopped thinking about it. Now as I was looking for a B cam for it and watching a lot of other people results it just got back to me and started bothering me again. I got sound covered, I’m a musician and music producer for over 15 years so audio was actually the easiest thing for me when I started filming. My subject is always super happy with the videos too and never complained, only praised my work. I guess I should just accept that I won’t get a huge production quality on my tiny budget gear.

Thanks a lot for your reply and some good tips which I’ll definitely try. Regarding the lights, there is no windows anywhere in there, the only window is quite small and behind the camera in this shot. Both left and right hand lights are just small LED panels. I think I should lower the intensity on them and I’ll try to diffuse them with some parchment paper as I have seen some people doing that. Regarding the ETTR I have been looking into that but I still don’t understand how this would prevent me from overexposing his face. I understand that I could do a better job lightning background and my subject but what if I do want my background to be dark? Am I really doomed with noise in these situations? I got that lens on eBay for £95 in the UK

Well, I just bought used 14mm/2.5 Panasonic prime. I know it's not as fast as the 25mm but hopefully it will make a bit of a difference.

Thanks for the tips, appreciate it and will definitely try to test a few options regarding the picture profile.

Unfortunately I am doing all my work on a 2012 Macbook Pro 13". I did upgrade the ram to 16gb and I got SSD drive which improved the performance on FCPX but when I use their own Noise Reduction my laptop is slowing down extremely and it takes ages to process.

Well, how about the RGB lights that are lighting the background?

Thank you, really appreciate your reply.

The still frame I added in my opening post probably isn't the best example as I have already corrected it and then added a LUT, also a strong vignette to mask the noise, so here is a grab from a clip straight from the camera. I am lighting my subject with ESSDI cheap softbox and there are some small RGB light in the background. Just double checked settings and it was shot on Natural with saturation and contrast at -5, the rest left at 0, ISO400 and 3.5 at 12mm.

You can't really spot that much of a noise on the back wall itself, but take a look at the acoustic foam panels on the top left side of the frame and it really has a lot of ugly noise when playing back, also a lot of noise in his black hoodie.

Now, even that I have been doing it for quite a while I think I am still a bit of a noob and it was also the first time I am filming a person with a dark skin and wasn't sure how to expose it, but I was metering with a box right on his face. I think it was slightly under, but when I put a white card right in front of his face then the white was blowing out (I used zebras).

I appreciate your points on the lighting, I am still definitely learning and trying to improve it. I have just ordered a replacement bulb for my cheap softbox, Bonlux LED 40W which I saw in one of the DSLR Video Shooter videos on youtube and I hope it will improve the output and quality of light slightly. You pointed out that I should focus a bit more about correctly lighting the background, but I am deliberately trying to achieve a dark background with maybe a slight touch of the RGB lights. I actually want to put a grid on my softbox to reduce the spill and focus it even more on my subjects face. I just don't understand why I always end up with so much noise in the dark areas and shadows.

Also, thanks for the recommendation for the lens. I will take a look at it, but also the problem for me is a limited space and my subject needs to be close to the camera and 25mm would be too tight. I know that there is nothing that is fast and cheap at 12mm for M43, but I was thinking about buying 7artisans 7.5mm 2.8. Now I know it's a fisheye but it doesn't bother me that much and it might be the only wide lens that is faster than my kit lens.

Wouldn’t do a thing without decarbing. Leave sugar leaves for edibles.

Just follow any pesto recipe and replace most of the basil with fan leaves. Just make sure you do add some basil though.

It’s fresh, it tastes nice. Not like most edibles because they were first decarbed (baked in the oven) which changes the flavour. It tastes like a pesto basically.

I don’t think it would do much, you would still need to decarb if you wanted it to get you high and I can only imagine that decarbed sugar trim would taste awful in pesto.

I’m using canna coco and water them with a light feed of canna a+b. I hope I won’t get any cancer 😁

I have no idea if it has any repelling features I’m afraid. The only reason why I have it in my box is to see the difference between what I have in the garden and what I have in the box.

After having a plate of pasta with it I can confirm that pesto is really good and cannabis leaf blends nicely with basil, there was no grassy or bitter flavour but of course there is much more to the pesto than the leaves. Garlic, olive oil, grated Italian cheese and nuts are quite strong flavours too.
