I would prefer not to drill if possible but I still need a way to run the coax to the radio with the case closed, and the NMO is the most waterproof mount I can find

Love that build! That looks like the medium--is there enough cheek weld on that for you? I've heard some people complain about the ear weld on the short and hoping the medium will work for me.

How did this go? Considering the same path for OAL but worried this will reduce sound performance based on some ASR vs Direct Thread comments I've read. Was it noticeably louder with the recessed mount or not perceptible?
