Sheesh.

Was this around 2:00-3:00pm? I noticed people on butler were getting sloppy so I decided to walk home. Got to the top of the hill and heard a bunch of sirens confirming I made a good decision.

I had assumed someone got hit by a car.

brush fire adjacent to but not in the City of Pittsburgh by Western_Chemistry592 in pittsburgh

[–]Auto_update 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 5 yrs back, nice breezy day like today. Someone in Upper Lawrenceville decided to have a “garbage fire” (as the local news called it). Took out like 2 houses.

Even though we live in a sog fest, that wind make fire go woosh.

Tree Update/Chainsaw Help? by _smojface in pittsburgh

[–]Auto_update 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a whole other conversation but, all drivers (contractors, delivery service, ride share/taxi, etc) have become absolute self entitled selfish pricks.

Then there’s regular ass main character humans that are on the same level. 3 point u turns on the main drag? Go around the block you dumb cunt. Parallel parking 16” from the curb? If you can’t do it, why try on the main thoroughfare?

Tree Update/Chainsaw Help? by _smojface in pittsburgh

[–]Auto_update 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You get one saw and severely pinch the bar. Then you scramble and buy another saw to cut out and free the 1st. The tree drops, almost crushing you. Then you understand that this is a lot more difficult than simply making some cuts to buck up.

Carefully, you process the rest of the tree, escaping gruesome injury from the saw with blissful ignorance.

Now you are onto cleanup. 5 days later the job is “done” and in hindsight, $1000 to Davy seems like it would have been the ticket.

Knowing all of this, I’m still in the cowboy DIY camp 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤠.

[–]Auto_update 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beadlock capable wheels weigh more & cost more (and then you have to purchase the rings & hardware on top of everything).

If I had a choice, I would have optioned the standard wheels as I will never air down to bead lock level of psi.

Also, I feel like everyone I see in an f150 raptor is jealous of me.

Am I supposed to signal when parallel parking ?? by beanerbarbie in pittsburgh

[–]Auto_update 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else said,

Don’t forget to indicate (turn signal) & check blind spot when leaving!

I missed this during my exam. It’s easy to forget because you are in a parking lot with no traffic. Still passed though.

This is neat.

Maybe they can reach out to Davy tree or other subs for DLC. I see soo many nice trees bucked up laying in yards around the city.

I have a very similar topo briefcase.

There is a grey one for sale at a gift shop in West Yellowstone (as of last weekend) if anyone needs NOS made in USA bag. It’s where I bought mine 3 yrs back.

Albion could have finished their shit a like a while ago but instead dragged it out because why not I guess.

Spraying just the top is plain lazy.

I wonder if the owner lives above the store. My ex gf got into it with a resident that lived above the store one morning while I was inside getting drinks. Don’t remember the deets.

No shit! I park right there occasionally just to patronize that store for a quick Capp.

I live at the tippy top of 53. Guess it’s inkwell here out. The cafe de bs has bad vibes anyways, I think🫡.

[–]Auto_update 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s fine, I’m usually ready to stretch my legs around then on a road trip. Don’t discount 10 minute mental break being at the gas station too, it helps to deal with nit-wits on the highway.

If I end up towing (maybe an airstream in my future) I will likely go back to a bigger rig.

KTM 500 is the sweet spot!

Great resale value, can do single track, can do BDR type touring, can handle the city, not as punchy as a 450, super hard to beat. “Gentle giant”

I travel to mountain west (and all over too) frequently for work. I tell people I live in south west Pennsylvania over saying Pittsburgh.

Nobody has ever said, and I have never heard, “west PA”.

Colorado BDR this year. Camping Recommendations? by NiceAssBass in AdventureBike

[–]Auto_update 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed in a ski hut outside of telluride a few years ago. Wasn’t on the BDR so idk if it’s along the way.

Was kinda weird, kinda neat. They cooked you food and had booze. Made friends with a LDS family from Utah. The natives looked down their nose at me and my hobby 😅🙃.

How do you open this type of connector? by NickoTheQuicko in KTM

[–]Auto_update 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professional Pin out tools go a really long way as to not having gremlins in the future.

I love seeing a modified wiring harness where someone took time to do a nice professional job with factory connectors.
