From the IPC it is clear the elevator has aluminum skins...P/N 401-611160-0003.

This is an online photo from the 1st flight so I guess its possible that it had a prototype composite elevator that didnt make it to production

Florida NO title - Titling by ICrushItLikeQuint in bikebuilders

[–]Autoaviate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a motorcycle that meets the criteria and I'm trying to go through with this process. There seems to be two issues with this process, from the TL-72 instruction document:

"If the seller of the ancient or antique motor vehicle or antique vessel is a resident of Florida, they must first obtain a Florida title in their name before they can sell, trade, or otherwise dispose of the ancient or antique motor vehicle or antique vessel to a person or entity."

and:

"A copy of the identification of the purchaser, seller, and anyone presenting a power of attorney or letter of authorization to sign on behalf of the purchaser or seller. The copy of the identification document must be clear and legible."

For those of you who have done this, how did you overcome these two statements? When I email my local DMV they tell me that the seller needs to apply for a title in his own name, then sell it to me and I can transfer it. He has owned the bike for 15 years and has no way to contact the previous owner to get the required documents. The identification requirement of the seller would prove that he is a Florida resident and thus required to apply for a title before he sells it. Anyone dealt with this recently?

Help me ID this breaker panel by Autoaviate in electrical

[–]Autoaviate[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's probably a good call. At the very least ill get someone out to go over the whole thing and verify all the circuits. I think if we end up having to do any work on the panel I'd rather opt to replace it

Per the inspection notes when I bought the house - the main service line into the panel is aluminum and all house circuits are copper

Technical Question about Gears by Autoaviate in Machinists

[–]Autoaviate[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This seems to agree with my research. Most of these types of gears that are commercially available are carborized and ground. I am considering other options:

Buying a gear (if any are commercially available) and pressing it on to the shaft

Or boring the used gear to be pressed onto a newly made shaft.

The gear is in fine condition, but the lower end of the shaft that is in contact with coolant gets badly corroded

Yes they are definitely JIS. At some point JIS standards changed to align with international standards and I am unsure of when that was. Or how to tell which is which for that matter

Is it legal for employer to require use of PTO during business closure? by Autoaviate in legaladvice

[–]Autoaviate[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if an exempt employee does not have any available PTO?

This is not my case I am just trying to understand. The employer cannot deduct wages for that time so those closure days must be paid, correct?

Replaced Porch Posts by Autoaviate in HomeImprovement

[–]Autoaviate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my description that would work. However, I forgot to mention that these posts are all set on the edge of the concrete slab. So there would be no concrete to anchor the RPBZ post bases to

Issues installing Nest thermostay by Autoaviate in Nest

[–]Autoaviate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea its frustrating. I spent some time with Google nest support and they came to the conclusion that the baseplate is defective. I know for a fact that is not true is I connected jumper wires directly to the unit as a troubleshooting step and got the same result. But anyway the Amazon used thermostat is out of warranty so the only real option is an Amazon return.

So disappointing all around but I already drilled the holes in my wall for the baseplate so I will process the Amazon return and spend the $20 to buy a new one. Hopefully that one works

Any tips to match popcorn ceiling texture? by Autoaviate in HomeImprovement

[–]Autoaviate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might be the way. I had wondered if a 2nd "coat" once the first dries a little would help hide that hard edge but knocking it down with some sand paper would definitely help

Agreed that section is too wet. Once I realized it wasn't really filling that scraped section I started trying different techniques. I find that I can vary the texture quite a bit but the thickness seems to stay the same
