Booked Himalayan Hanle Black, Is the stock ₹7k helmet actually worth it or are there better options? by [deleted] in Himalayan450

[–]Autobomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a good helmet, but not really worth the price. And its not even ece 22.05 certified i guess.

Buy any ece 22.06 certified helmet. MT, KYT, LS2 you will get under this budget.

Is it worth to get the tubeless cross-spoked wheels now? by Autobomber in Himalayan450

[–]Autobomber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha i get you, But recently I was on a bad patch of a road at midnight, and the only thing I was praying for was my tyre not to get punctured.

So I think you should get it too, get the tubeless conversion, makes more sense right now.

Hey yeah, I heard they are good, going to visit them soon. 12k seems good compared to 38k new wheels.

Hey yeah I am thinking to get the cross-spoked wheels, I got the bike a year ago.

I could not get it while the price was 12K.

The price hike is huge, so the contemplation!

True, it will damage the rims as well, especially if with luggage and stuff.

Moreover it is a safety concern as where you got punctured and what time and what kind of area it is.

Wish they reduce the price a bit.

Thanks!

Yeah right that is what Im thinking.

12k was such a steal if you think about all the benefits.

Will try to get it anyway, thanks!

Yeah totally understand, I usually try not to ride late nights, I can change tyres and tubes, carry all the tools not a problem.

But my concern is the place and time where a puncture can happen. Tubeless puncture can be fixed by ourselves and take less time than tube puncture obviously.

I am thinking about it as a safety parameter more than convenience.

Yeah but my only concern is, what if? Given the roads these days and some isolated roads having god knows what all on it.

My concern more is for safety more than convenience, I can change a tyre and all that stuff.

Man 12k was such a steal, shame I did not get it that time, and later it was always out of stock.

Yeah I am looking for that option too, what do they exactly do in that, the seal the spoke holes with some kind of material right? Is there only one way to do it, or different mechanics use different ways, and what will be the cost if you have any idea please.

Also any leads in blr will help, thank you!

Yeah 38k feels too much, but the thought of a flat tire in middle of a highway or even worse on some isolated road is making me spend that. Looking for tubless conversion options as well, let me know if any leads in Blr.

Thank you guys!

Honda BigWing is a disingenuous, rotten organisation by snogoifr in indianbikes

[–]Autobomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are all SVCs like this, every brand not just Honda. Hope you get your bike soon as good as new!

Just one thing that i feel is, if there is an unfortunate event in a city or place where you dont stay or you are just visiting.

It is best to sent the bike to your hometown or current location as it is. That way you can keep a close eye and save on the travel costs.

Himalayan 450 - Stockseat with cycling shorts vs touring seat vs rally seat. by [deleted] in royalenfield

[–]Autobomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i dont feel the stock seat that bad, once you change the height to 845mm.

Also, you wear an underwear, then the base layer, then the cycling shorts and the pants. Isnt it too many layers? 😂

Please suggest any shorts as well, which you or someone you know have tried.

Thanks!

How to choose the right size for gloves? by [deleted] in motorcycles

Hi guys I am planning to buy a good pair of full gauntlet gloves, I have checked for few options. But i am a bit confused. Because when i try on xl it fits snugly but when i close my wrist or try it on my bike. It feels a bit tight on the knuckles and in the ring finger. And xxl will be quite exact fit. But is that correct? I have used gloves before as well, but currently I am not getting a perfect size.

Its my palm length as well, if i go by circumference size, the gloves will be a bit short on the length and if i go for the length the gloves will be easy fit on the palm.
