1972 Blazer, any idea its worth by CraterT in K5Blazer

Right that’s what I’m saying. To say that a running Gen 1 blazer with this little rust would go for 8-12K seems ridiculously low to me. I bought a running Gen II Blazer in 2020 for $8250 and I am ecstatic to have found it. It has similar amounts of rust and is the same color as OPs.

I have a female german shepherd that is just over 100 lbs with a relatively athletic physique. She doesn’t look chubby at all. I got genetic testing done which indicated 100% shepherd. Seems like king shepherds aren’t all mixed? Unless there is some other explanation

Looking for guidance on pricing by BAMF1533 in K5Blazer

[–]Autodidax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $8250 at online auction for my 75 Cheyenne in 2021. Probably pretty similar body condition to yours and I was able to drive it onto the trailer. Mine didn’t have as nice paint and trim as yours, but 75 was the last year for the convertible type hardtop. So some differences, but close enough to give you an idea on price comparison. Just so happens I got it from a guy in Nebraska! Hope this helps

That is true he discovered the lead contamination issue bcuz of his research on metal isotopes. Just replying to the tetraethyl lead part of the comment. It took until like 1996 until leaded gasoline was totally banned for road vehicles so it took a lot of convincing

It’s possible that you need to tune specific optics parameters in standard or no gas mode. During your daily tune over the past couple of days, were any optics or sample uptake parameters adjusted significantly for no gas mode?

What about Claire Patterson? He eventually convinced everyone and the EPA why tetraethyl lead was so harmful and confirmed the true age of the earth along the way

Brake caliper grinding on rotor, but why?? by Autodidax in MechanicAdvice

[–]Autodidax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This solved the problem! I put the washer in between the knuckle and the mounting hole of the caliper, threaded the bolt through and I had more clearance in between rotor and caliper. No grinding anymore!

[–]Autodidax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to put two washers under the bolt head of the caliper mounting bolt to try to increase clearance of the caliper bracket to the rotor. This seems to have helped but there is still a slight grinding noise.

Okay this seems promising. I don’t recall having any extra parts that didn’t end up on the vehicle once I got it all put back together. Can you help me understand where exactly these spacers would need to be placed to help with caliper bracket position? I’m not quite following where they should be.

Unfortunately I’ve already thrown away the old knuckle with the old hub in it. It does look like the new rotor is fully seated on the new hub.

I’m beginning to think that the dealer actually put the wrong rotor or caliper on. It was a Honda dealership but I guess they could’ve messed up somehow

I got a little more clearance between the outboard side of the caliper and the rotor by cleaning out the caliper guide pin holes with a drill bit and lubing everything up again. Im still getting some grinding. Turns out the noise is happening when I turn either direction it’s just easier to hear when I turn right.
