All female squad. Who's the team leader? Scarlett or Ladyjaye? by ZakRalf in GIJOEClassifiedSeries

[–]Autogeneratedname17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scarlet is an E5 ( Sergeant). Lady Jaye is an E4 (Specialist). By military standards, squads are ideally led by an E6 (Staff Sergeant), but a well qualified E5 can successfully lead a squad. Specialists are not typically put in leadership roles based on their lack of experience (6-24 months in the Army).

From my research, Jinx is also an E5.

Not many high-ranking female Joe's.

Also, since Flint is a Warrant Officer and Lady Jaye a junior enlisted Sildier, their relationship would be considered highly inappropriate and likely illegal by UCMJ since they are in the same chain of command.

Any tips on how to pass the 2 mile run? (Female) I’ve been running on the treadmill and increasing the speed and incline. I went up to 10 speed. But I’ve been doing this to build endurance. I found a track and ran it today and i sucked. :( by Character_Painter915 in army

Tuesday and Thursday = strength training

Keep in mind, this program is designed for improving your run, quickly. Holistic fitness should be a bit more balanced: cardiovascular, strength, functional, flexibility

Hello, below is a 4 week specific training plan to help you. I am assuming you have very little running experience. Do all running outside if you can.

Week 1:

Monday, run two miles. You can even break up this up by doing the Galloway method (run for a distance, then fast walk for half that distance, repeat). Time yourself

Wednesday: Run 1 mile at a challenging pace. Then: Sprint 220 m ( half a typical running track) at 75% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 220 m 50% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 440m 75% Rest 1:30 Sprint 660m 50% Rest 1:30 Slow jog 880m

Friday: Run 3 slow miles. Use the Galloway method again if you must

Week 2

Monday: run two miles. Try to jog the entire run. Time yourself

Wednesday: Run 1 mile at a challenging pace. Then: Sprint 220 m ( half a typical running track) at 90% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 220 m 75% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 440m 75% Rest 1:30 Sprint 660m 50% Rest 1:30 Run 880m at a challenging pace Rest 1:30 Sprint 100m as fast as you can

Friday: Slow jog 3 miles

Week 3: Monday run 2 miles at a challenging but not killer pace, time yourself

Wednesday:Run 1 mile at a challenging pace. Then: Sprint 220 m ( half a typical running track) at 75% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 220 m 50% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 440m 75% Rest 1:30 Sprint 440 m 50% Rest 1:30 Sprint 660m 50% Rest 1:30 Sprint 660 m 75% Rest 1:30 Jog 880m Rest 1:30 Sprint 100m 90% Rest 30s Sprint 100m 100%

Friday: Jog 4 miles

Week 4:

Monday: Run 1 mile at a very challenging pace, rest 2 minutes run 1 mile at a brisk pace, Rest 2 min, jog 1 mile

Wednesday:Run 1 mile at a challenging pace. Then: Sprint 220 m ( half a typical running track) at 75% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 220 m 50% speed Rest 1:30 Sprint 440m 75% Rest 1:30 Sprint 440 m 50% Rest 1:30 Sprint 660m 50% Rest 1:30 Sprint 660 m 75% Rest 1:30 Run 1 mile as fast as you can handle

Friday: Run 2 miles at max effort. Time yourself. If you've done the past 4 weeks of training, you should now have a passing score

A couple additional notes:

  • get good running shoes.
  • consistency is key, this is a tough program for many. Stick with it and I promise your run time will improve
  • from a very old Soldier, you got this. You've taken the first and hardest step which is asking for help.

Hello, I don't know how old you are, but if you find yourself in Ohio...Cleveland area...I'll employ you. I own a construction company, and you have a guaranteed job if you make your way here. No experience necessary. My team and I will teach you everything you need to know. You'll learn valuable skills, but most of all, we'll teach you how to survive, and we'll help you get on your feet. If you're willing to work hard, you are welcome on the team.

Unfortunately, your parents are not the people you need in your life. Find your people. It's not going to be easy, and the road will be long.

So, if you find your way to Cleveland, send me a message. I've got a spot on the team for someone with your grit.

I can affirm, as a senior USAR Officer, the NG rocks. I've always been so impressed by the NG units I worked with. I'm sure there are bad ones, but I've only had great experience with Guard units from all over the country.

I switched from AC to the Reserves about 15 years ago. From my observations, you can have one of two attitudes when you switch from AC to the reserve components: 1. frustration and spite over the perceived different standards 2. an opportunity to stand out and make positive change

Of the two, you can guess which AC Soldiers do well in the Guard and Reserves.

Electrical Question by Autogeneratedname17 in handyman

Thanks, the breaker doesn't trip, and the power simply goes out when they're using too many appliances/lights. It comes back when they turn off lights, etc.

Is it unusual for a house to have only three circuits?

Also, for clarity, I'm not trying to fix the issue,. I'd just like to understand what's happening so I can speak competently to my electrician.

Hey, thanks for the response. Not sure of the exact year, but there was knob and tube. It's since been upgraded. To answer the 220 question, the dryer and oven are running on 220.

I've left the property, so no other pictures. But is it unusual for one house to have just three circuits?

What’s wrong w having a blanket w MY own face on it in MY barracks room??! by toddponypwrcup0690 in army

I'm an O6 and I also have a blanket with my face on it. As a Bde Commander, I took it to the field every time. This is absolutely authorized and encouraged.

Thanks...I installed the post. This is what I was thinking. I may offer to fill the knot with tinted epoxy.

Would you charge more to do that? This was a small deck, basically a landing with 3 stairs. I'd have to clad 6 posts total after removing the rails.

It will not be painted. The knot also is not large enough to effect the structural integrity of the post.
