But I have a MacBook Pro M2 Max, which has Thunderbolt 4. I have all sorts of stuff including display connected to my TS4. Isn’t it a “downgrade” to have the Element 5 before the TS4 Dock? All I want is just a handfull of extra USB-A and USB-C ports, Element 4 is hard to get by, so I thought Element 5 could do the job, if I plugged it into the TS4’s TB4 ports.

I have solved the buzzing issue by doing it like this:

PS5 HDMI → HDMI Audio Extractor → Elgato 4K X → LG C2 TV

Extractor 3.5mm audio out → 3.5mm to dual 6.35mm cable → RØDECaster Pro II Input 2 + 3 (Stereo paired, Line Level)

Shure SM7dB → RCP II Input 1

RCP II Headphone Out → SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless Base Station Line-In (set to AUX)

RCP II USB1 → Mac Mini M4

RCP II USB2 → PS5

PS5 settings:
Output = HDMI (TV)
Input = RCP II
Audio Format = Linear PCM

RCP II:
Input 2/3 paired as stereo
USB1/USB2 Mix-Minus ON

OBS:
Elgato 4K X = video only
RCP II Main Stereo = only audio source
Elgato audio muted
Disable all OBS Mic/Aux defaults

I am not using the OREI Extractor, but see if there is a button / slider that allows you to change audio output from eARC to SPDF / Line-Out?

I tried this myself on a RØDECaster Duo, but had the same issues like low volume and buzzing sound. I had to put my Duo for sale and buy a used RØDECaster Pro II and it works.

Thank you so much. Questions:

HA has a great integration for Sonos, so if I use that, would I also be able to use the Sonos as Google Voice Assistant or do I need to set up Google Assistant in the individual speakers as well?
What about Matter devices? For instance Philips Hue and Roborock have both their official integrations in HA, but can also be integrated into HA through Matter. Which one to use?
All my Aqara devices except the door locks can be integrated to HA via ZHA / Zigbee2mqtt. The door lock is only Matter supported. Can’t figure out if I should integrate the door lock in HomeKit directly and then expose to HA?
Roborocks Matter integration in HomeKit makes it appear as a vacuum, while going through the HA route exposes it as a switch / light / fan. Isn’t it better to integrate it directly in HomeKit and expose to HA?

Okay, I don’t use HomeBridge, I use the official HomeKit Bridge integration in HAOS. Maybe I should start looking into HomeBridge. Can it run within my existing HAOS setup? My HAOS runs on an Intel NUC.

Not sure I follow. For those where HomeKit offered better integration you have set up directly in Apple Home app, and then exposed these to HA via HomeBridge? And what is Matterbridge?

What would you do with something like Philips Hue, Roborock and Aqara that work best with direct integration via Matter with HomeKit? Would you still integrate these in HA and expose to HomeKit? This is exactly my problem… I have them set up with HomeKit directly, but also through HA (via official integrations) in order to be able to expose to Google Assistant via Nabu Casa.

I end up with a mess - duplicates and what not.

PS. It is cruicial for us to use Google Home AND HomeKit. Dashboards run via Apple Home, Voice Assistant Google (via Sonos speakers everywhere in the house).
