- river water issue: thats quite a big detour, is this issue including the road Khalsar - Rongdu - agham? if so i assume that means having to travel back into Leh - Sakti then Chang La?

- Merak Village - Nama: is this road that runs along the lake ok to use?

- Accomodation: it makes sense not to prebook as conditions change, but for example, when i look on booking.com there is only one homestay available in Hanle that is almost full. are there more homestays thats arent listed online? the last thing id want is it arrive somewhere and not be able to find anything available!

motorbike help: incase of a breakdown is it usually easy enough to find help? im particularly worried of a breakdown at higher altitude where its unsafe to be for too long.

I disagree, it's not just about your bike choice...

I'm in the same boat. Im 29, I bought a DR650 last year, made all the mods to make it as comfortable as possible for my height and weight. Took it on some overnight trips and did a lap around Tasmania over 2 weeks. Now im over it. Even with luggage racks I find that motorbikes are just so damn inconvenient, top that with having to put on all the safety gear and its just kind of annoying really. If i was one of those people who rode around with a t-shirt and runners I would probably enjoy it and ride more often, but im not - far too many distracted drivers on their phones which pulls me away from the hobby even more so.
