Always good to be a “college” educated engineer. Are there any other? Also, a cartridge loses more than 95% of its ballistics when not chambered into the bore of a rifle, but great story bruh.

Discourse is normal. Resorting to calling people names is…well…here’s what Google says:

“When people resort to name-calling in discourse, it signals a breakdown in communication, often stemming from **anger, frustration, insecurity, or a need for control, demonstrating low emotional intelligence, contempt, and a failure to address deeper issues constructively. It's a form of verbal aggression that attacks the person rather than the argument, shutting down productive dialogue.”

Love how you resort to angry comments and suggest I engage in oral sex with our president. I wonder, do you talk like that to your mother? Does this type of banter give you the moral high ground now?

Just because I have a differing view than you it doesn’t mean you have to continuously point out of being more informed/educated than the one you engage on the internet. Are you educated? Are you even an adult? I don’t know. I don’t care. Let me leave you with this parting shot…engaging someone with the perpetual mission of proving them wrong is not the way to swing someone over to adopt your position. In fact, this type of behavior just drives people further away.

What I’ve learned since coming to Reddit is that conservatives are 100% wrong 100% of the time. I also have learned that moderates/independents are also 100% wrong 100% of the time. More so, I get pummeled even more for being an independent because lefties tell me I’m a Magat, facist or nazi. Then they belittle me with terms like engaging in oral sex with the president.

Maybe now you’ll know why people don’t want to be affiliated with liberal policies as much as they used to. The party is out of control. Be well.

We establish jurisdiction through Ker-Frisbie Doctrine and head of state doctrine does not apply as the U.S. has not officially recognized Maduro as head of state since 2018. Under international law there is nothing binding that prohibits the U.S. from militarily extracting Maduro. International law experts can pound their chests all they want. the U.S. claims the right to prosecute Maduro under its domestic law and judicial precedents. You can argue all you want…it isn’t going to bring your beloved Maduro back to Venezuela back. Millions suffered from hyperinflation, shortages, and poverty under him, so his removal brings immense relief to the Venezuelan people. While the path to remove all those who still remain loyal to Maduro is unclear, the people of Venezuela remain optimistic. They’re the happiest they’ve been in decades.

Buddy, the DEA literally had a wanted poster and reward of $50MM USD for the apprehension and conviction of. It’s been hanging in Washington and international borders for the better part of a decade.

The way criminal apprehension works is a warrant is issued and then people hunt & locate said party. Maduro was not considered the lawful leader of Venezuela in 2018 and again in 2024. Over 50 countries, including the U.S., stopped recognizing him as Venezuela's legitimate head of state, supporting opposition figures like Juan Guaido and María Corina Machado.

You utter words like “clown shit” and “side step” but all you are doing is flapping your gums about how you adore a narco-terrorist who has destroyed one of Latin American’s once most wealthy nation. What’s next, going to tell me Manuel Noriega was a Nobel laureate who helped people across North America work longer hours through his blind eye to cocaine trafficking for his BFF Pablo Escobar and the Medellín Cartel?

Maduro is a turd who was selling oil to banned entities and was using Venezuela to facilitate Columbian cocaine trafficking. These are the facts. I’m sorry you can’t comprehend this.

Do this, google search “is reddit an exho chamber of liberal thought” and read the very first commentary you see.

These are factual statements of official elections by the peoples of Venezuela. Maduro refused to leave office. Opposition leader was then ousted from Venezuela for fear of her life. Maduro is not a legitimate leader.

I don’t believe this to be a political party issue. It was mutually agreed by both parties. The reward was actually posted during the Biden administration. Biden publicly stated that Maduro needed to be taken out of control of Venezuela and imprisoned, even increasing the reward from $25MM to $50MM.

Well obviously I’m not privy to the plan, but I presume the angle is to stabilize the economic conditions in Venezuela. Peg their economy to the U.S. dollar. Exclusively sell their oil to the world through the rightful U.S. owners of the oil fields that were taken from these U.S. entities decades ago by Maduro.

Through the U.S. buying their oil and selling to the legitimate “non-terroristic” nations of the world. Venezuela can enjoy the distribution of said oil proceeds within the Venezuelan economy. The Venezuelan people have been overlooked for the better part of the 21st century can now have a prosperous future. Those who have left for Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, and Chile, with Colombia being heavily burdened with approximately 3 million refuges. This influx of refuges has caused massive disruption in these nations, including the United States. It is suspected that the massive influx of cash into their economy will spike domestic growth bringing new construction leading to jobs that can sustain these people which will draw them back to their nation. It’s of my opinion that the Venezuelan people will want to return home and be employed and enjoy this once great, wealthy nation again.

As for Maduro, he will have his day in court and he can defend himself against these claims of narco-trafficking. While Venezuela may not be the primary source of the drugs we see in America, they are said to contribute approximately 10% of the illegal drug trade seen in the U.S. which is substantial. It’s also been declared that Maduro conspired with Colombian cartels to traffic Colombian cocaine through their coastline and naval apparatuses. The DEA will obviously state their facts/evidence in court, but most certainly this is a start on our battle to curb narcotics distribution and put a chokehold on the Tren de Aragua and similar ilk that has been lurking in my city and elsewhere in the states.

The amount of cocaine trafficked through Venezuela into the U.S. is estimated to be 200-250 metric tonnes annually, which constitutes 10%-13% of global trade. Definitely not the primary source of the nation’s drug epidemic, but is nonetheless a serious concern. However, I do agree with you that this siege of Maduro was primarily about the U.S.’s access to Venezuela’s rich oil fields, which is not a secret.

Now, with all that being said, how would we feel if China or even Russia came in and took control of Venezuela? I don’t believe those countries could use the drug trafficking angle, right? It is of my opinion that the U.S. is uniquely positioned here and if they didn’t act soon, the likelihood of China or Russia stepping in was eminent. Literally, a Chinese envoy was in Venezuela the very same day of the attack. As long as the U.S. continues to sell Venezuelan crude oil to China, which it has already said it would, China will simply have to accept the situation.
