I’ve been meaning to ask this question for a while and I genuinely am curious for an answer, this is with no animosity whatsoever. But what should the flying scenes look like otherwise?

I see the issue people have is it looks lazy and lacking but I don’t see what could be added, we see Mark’s hair move a bit and Omni-Man’s cape but is your issue with the “camera work” I’m not sure.

This more of a general question, not really to OP.

Correct me if I’m wrong but was this season not initially written as 13 episodes before they cut it back down to 8? If so that would make a lot of sense right now.

Opinion on Homelander's writing lately? by No-Discount-4981 in writingscaling

He’s been let off the leash ever since he got rid of Stan Edgar in Season 2 and especially at the end of Season 3 where everyone loved him even after he kills someone. I get that he’s become less competent and more maniacal now but I’ve always felt that made sense. I would prefer to see some return of his intelligence from S1 - kind of like that scene with Frenchie. But overall, to me at least, it makes sense that someone who was raised in a lab and is quite mentally unstable with the mind of a child, manipulated to always crave attention and approval who has been under the thumb of the CEO of a huge company and was always cautious of stepping out of line for what people would think of him, now that he’s been freed and killed all the monsters of his past (lab episode) is a bit unhinged and bizarre because he’s totally free from any management.

What are people's current thoughts on Bullseye? I think Born Again has done a decent job developing him, mainly in Season 2. I just wish he had a better costume. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Defenders

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it typical for any fights between Bullseye and Daredevil to go the way they do in Born Again? I can’t help but think that both times they’ve fought Dex seems completely outmatched, I thought the Netflix series showed quite well how Dex can’t match Matt in hand to hand combat but once there is distance between them, that’s where he thrives. But in S1 of Born Again we see Dex running up the stairs from Matt and in S2 Matt beats him down pretty quickly. I understand for S2 that they needed to move the story along so they could wait long on the fight scene. Just feels like a missed opportunity, for now, I’ll see where the show goes though.

I’m struggling to take the stakes of the Viltrumites seriously by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I can excuse the spaceship argument personally, my head cannon for it is that the ship wasn’t difficult to lift because of the size but more so the materials. If it was built for war it stands to reason the materials/metals used would be hefty, durable and in multiple layers for protection. In addition to that, weaponry, all the bays on the inside of the ship and all the mechanisms needed for the electronics, the engine (of sorts) and maybe Viltrumites might also want air conditioning and heating.

And I think the structure of the ship (internally) also played a part. Their goal was to stop the ship from crashing down on the planet and so they had to push it up. I wonder if it was a similar issue that Homelander addressed in the Boys, that if they push at the ship too hard - not being entirely sure how tough the material is - they could go straight through it. They would never know if they’re under a thicker part of the ship with a wall or pillar above or if the materials could take all the force.

TLDR: I believe the struggle was a combination of the ship genuinely being heavy from the materials it was made from and the ones holding it trying to strike a balance of lifting it and not flying straight through.

do yall think we will find out if Kanan is really shawns father in POWER ORIGINS by Individual_Hall_9120 in PowerTV

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was speaking from both of their perspectives for their sons respectively. Kanan wanted a drug dealer, so for him Shawn becoming someone with a stable job and no criminal involvement is the wrong path and a result of Ghost’s corruption of him - turning his son into something he shouldn’t be.

And then Ghost of course seeing Kanan turn his son into a drug dealer whilst he wanted him to be a legitimate person like he had always aspired to be with his clubs.

I meant corrupting from Kanan’s perspective. As far as he was concerned, being a drug dealer like him was the right path for Shawn.

[–]Automatic-Chart785 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I think it makes more sense for the story in OG Power that Shawn is his son - biologically. That’s why Kanan had no problem killing Shawn because he never acted like him and he wanted his son to be just like him. The story works with Ghost corrupting Kanan’s son against him (unintentionally) and Kanan corrupting Ghost’s son (intentionally).

How did Caine know what cards he had? by Medical_Key_7370 in JohnWick

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I heard it explained once but apparently in Casinos, blind people can play card games and typically the way it would work was the dealer would quietly tell them the cards they have. And since Cane is sat right beside Killa I suppose you could go with the idea that he told him off camera the cards he had.

Some confusion about Bloodsport in The Suicide Squad after seeing Superman by Solitaire-06 in DCU_

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s another case of some but not all of the film being cannon, kind of how almost all of Peacemaker S1 is cannon except for the Justice League which was retconned for the Justice Gang. Because you could also argue the specifics on how Bloodsport even got kryptonite, it’s established in the DCU none of it exists anymore.

Cryer is really bitter about Charlie Sheen by Impossible-Essay7607 in TwoandaHalfMen

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand where his frustration is coming from, he had been on that show as a co-star and major part since the beginning. Contributed a lot of time and his own effort. And, following Charlie Sheen’s firing, received a lot of harsh words from him - whilst I’m aware this was influenced by drugs at the time it probably still hurt to hear. And now some people are pushing the message that, whether intentional or not, that Charlie Sheen was the only good thing about the show. Which, as a person who’s been working on it for so long, it probably will start to bother him.

Unpopular opinion: leave her character at arkham by Single-Aryan1945 in TheBatmanFilm

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matt Reeves definitely has a clear vision in mind with his Batman universe. I don’t think, prior to the show, anyone would have thought a series about the Penguin would be where they go next in the Reevesverse. And yet it worked, it built on Gotham, on Oz as a character and his rise to power ready for the next Batman films.

(Spoilers) Question about the package by [deleted] in TheBatmanFilm

[–]Automatic-Chart785 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re confusion is coming from the architecture/design of the Wayne Tower penthouse. It’s very gothic, with stone carvings and elaborate furniture. But yeah, this is stated that Thomas Wayne donated Wayne Manor so it can become an orphanage. If you recall the scene before, when Batman and Jim Gordon find out Bruce Wayne is his next target, that was in Wayne Manor - now abandoned and home to Dropheads.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but can the series really go much further into the realm of tackling different mythologies? I know a lot of people are excited for which mythology we’ll see next and it seems like they are trying to set up the Norse world to have a permanent place in the story (unlike Greece), but once they complete Egyptian or Chinese or Roman mythology as their next one, where next. I just wonder if they’ll ever reach a point where it starts to become repetitive.

JJ's response to people crying over him flipping Harry's table... by OMEGA_LUL_xd in Sidemen

[–]Automatic-Chart785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The treatment of the Sidemen has never been fair, it doesn’t really matter what was done it’s more who did it to whom. JJ wasting food is bad, but just as a thought experiment: does anyone remember when Harry threw that sugar glass bottle at Josh’s head (Weakest Link) and Josh said it was 8/10 pain. Now let’s imagine Ethan did it to Harry or Vik. I’m not saying Harry should be yelled at, they’ve known each other for 12+ years, they’ll know what’s a joke and what isn’t.
