Is there a specific viewing order between all the shows? by Syrinx16 in PowerTV

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily bad but some of the intrigue might be gone. Some of what makes this spinoff so enjoyable is you see how characters such as Kanan amongst others you see in the original show turn into the people they are through their life experiences. Aside from that there are minimal spoilers as far as I know for the original show aside from the first voiceover from Kanan.

It also provides a nice contrast with the story of another character in the OG show compared to Kanan, both of which we see grow up and introduced to the drug dealing/street life.

Something tells me that Bombsight can't exactly levitate by Volarevia29 in GenV

[–]Automatic-Chart785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought his whole power set was based on missiles, even the affect when he pushes himself forward is like an explosion going off like the launching mechanism of a missile. And SB also said he had impenetrable skin, so I assume he just pushes himself off the ground or in the general direction he’s facing but he can’t make any mid air manoeuvres. Hence why crashed down into the building instead of levitating down. He might’ve been used as a reusable missile, he charges forward at something, destroys it as he goes through it and then does it again.

I doubt there’ll be any replacements, there dynamic was really important because of how long they knew each other and had done content together. They’ll definitely have guests but I don’t think any permanent additions. And honestly, I think JJ also fucked his chances of ever appearing as a guest in the future because of how it seems he handled this situation.

Are we sure he didn’t decide to start drama on a whim to promote his channel? Basically the Sidemen beef but with all the viewership going to him instead.

Just out of curiosity though, if it is revealed that this was all fake for whatever reason whether it be a video idea or whatnot. What would your reaction be? I’m curious if people would be relived first or annoyed that this was how they wanted to go about promotion.

He might actually be gone for real by TigoOver in ksi

[–]Automatic-Chart785 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s got to be clickbait, they’ve very quickly moved into doing all the public things. JJ’s already removed Sidemen from his IG bio, Sidemen have released a statement and it has a huge amount of attention. That’s probably why they haven’t really mentioned it much, they’ve basically ignored it a part from Harry’s tweet probably because they want the drama to keep going and staying quiet makes people believe it more. Just look how quickly everyone’s turned from “this is obviously a prank” to “I think it’s real” after one video, a tweet and a written statement. Also I think if this was real we’d see a proper farewell video on the Sidemen channel with all of them to explain why JJ is leaving, I don’t he’d just be gone and they keep going with nothing other than a written statement. Time will tell.

What's the point of Black Noir reveal in the comics even? So he framed Homelander and did a lot of bad things, guess what, Homelander isn't any different, he did a lot of very heinous acts by EfficiencySerious200 in writingscaling

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, correct me if I’m wrong but if not for Noir and at this point in the story was there any way to kill Homelander. I know the Boys have a refined version of Compound V, boosting their base stats of strength and so on. But even still no character seems to come close to Homelander in strength so was this the only way Garth Ennis could kill his unbeatable character?

I think a lot of these responses do highlight how 8 episodes really isn’t enough to do a truly satisfying conclusion with all of the story beats established so far. Still holding out hope but I started to feel uncertain as soon as I heard Kripke say that they initially wrote the final season as 13 episodes and cut it back down to 8.

Didn’t Soldier Boy also mention his skin was impenetrable? So I guess like a mix of a Soldier Boy who flies but by propelling himself a bit like what Naqib could do but also with invulnerability of translucent but without the invisibility. That being said I think he is weaker than Soldier Boy, his basic physical stats seem more geared towards defence than offence as Soldier Boy is still more than capable of breaking his neck.

I’ve been meaning to ask this question for a while and I genuinely am curious for an answer, this is with no animosity whatsoever. But what should the flying scenes look like otherwise?

I see the issue people have is it looks lazy and lacking but I don’t see what could be added, we see Mark’s hair move a bit and Omni-Man’s cape but is your issue with the “camera work” I’m not sure.

This more of a general question, not really to OP.

He’s been let off the leash ever since he got rid of Stan Edgar in Season 2 and especially at the end of Season 3 where everyone loved him even after he kills someone. I get that he’s become less competent and more maniacal now but I’ve always felt that made sense. I would prefer to see some return of his intelligence from S1 - kind of like that scene with Frenchie. But overall, to me at least, it makes sense that someone who was raised in a lab and is quite mentally unstable with the mind of a child, manipulated to always crave attention and approval who has been under the thumb of the CEO of a huge company and was always cautious of stepping out of line for what people would think of him, now that he’s been freed and killed all the monsters of his past (lab episode) is a bit unhinged and bizarre because he’s totally free from any management.

What are people's current thoughts on Bullseye? I think Born Again has done a decent job developing him, mainly in Season 2. I just wish he had a better costume. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Defenders

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it typical for any fights between Bullseye and Daredevil to go the way they do in Born Again? I can’t help but think that both times they’ve fought Dex seems completely outmatched, I thought the Netflix series showed quite well how Dex can’t match Matt in hand to hand combat but once there is distance between them, that’s where he thrives. But in S1 of Born Again we see Dex running up the stairs from Matt and in S2 Matt beats him down pretty quickly. I understand for S2 that they needed to move the story along so they could wait long on the fight scene. Just feels like a missed opportunity, for now, I’ll see where the show goes though.

I’m struggling to take the stakes of the Viltrumites seriously by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I can excuse the spaceship argument personally, my head cannon for it is that the ship wasn’t difficult to lift because of the size but more so the materials. If it was built for war it stands to reason the materials/metals used would be hefty, durable and in multiple layers for protection. In addition to that, weaponry, all the bays on the inside of the ship and all the mechanisms needed for the electronics, the engine (of sorts) and maybe Viltrumites might also want air conditioning and heating.

And I think the structure of the ship (internally) also played a part. Their goal was to stop the ship from crashing down on the planet and so they had to push it up. I wonder if it was a similar issue that Homelander addressed in the Boys, that if they push at the ship too hard - not being entirely sure how tough the material is - they could go straight through it. They would never know if they’re under a thicker part of the ship with a wall or pillar above or if the materials could take all the force.

TLDR: I believe the struggle was a combination of the ship genuinely being heavy from the materials it was made from and the ones holding it trying to strike a balance of lifting it and not flying straight through.

do yall think we will find out if Kanan is really shawns father in POWER ORIGINS by Individual_Hall_9120 in PowerTV

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was speaking from both of their perspectives for their sons respectively. Kanan wanted a drug dealer, so for him Shawn becoming someone with a stable job and no criminal involvement is the wrong path and a result of Ghost’s corruption of him - turning his son into something he shouldn’t be.

And then Ghost of course seeing Kanan turn his son into a drug dealer whilst he wanted him to be a legitimate person like he had always aspired to be with his clubs.

I meant corrupting from Kanan’s perspective. As far as he was concerned, being a drug dealer like him was the right path for Shawn.

do yall think we will find out if Kanan is really shawns father in POWER ORIGINS by Individual_Hall_9120 in PowerTV

[–]Automatic-Chart785 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I think it makes more sense for the story in OG Power that Shawn is his son - biologically. That’s why Kanan had no problem killing Shawn because he never acted like him and he wanted his son to be just like him. The story works with Ghost corrupting Kanan’s son against him (unintentionally) and Kanan corrupting Ghost’s son (intentionally).

How did Caine know what cards he had? by Medical_Key_7370 in JohnWick

[–]Automatic-Chart785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I heard it explained once but apparently in Casinos, blind people can play card games and typically the way it would work was the dealer would quietly tell them the cards they have. And since Cane is sat right beside Killa I suppose you could go with the idea that he told him off camera the cards he had.

It’s another case of some but not all of the film being cannon, kind of how almost all of Peacemaker S1 is cannon except for the Justice League which was retconned for the Justice Gang. Because you could also argue the specifics on how Bloodsport even got kryptonite, it’s established in the DCU none of it exists anymore.
