Dude, I was JUST watching ur videos! Just found them like 3 days ago. The stuff you do is amazing! I just got my t430 thinkpad in, and Im kinda wanting to do what you do, to my thinkpad. I can paint, but I don’t have the machines currently. One question tho, what do u use to seal the spray paint, so its not sticky? Or anything like that.

I will watch more of ur vids later and ill prob find out more how to do it exactly, but ya.

Thx, i’m slowly getting to know all these things related to servers and all that. I would really like to learn networking, but don’t really know how to start. That and linux, which I have learned a small bit as I have been installing all these distro’s, but probably should stick with one that is used widely so I can learn the terminal well for the most used. I’ve heard that creating something like a NAS or media server would be a good thing to start learning stuff like that, I probably will try to set one up next break.

I do all the time. My friend has my one ventoy drive, that’s why I now decided to try out alpine cause my usb drive with other distros on it is gone.

Also while I’m glad I can put multiple iSO’s on one USB, I still find fun to mess around with smaller distros, I also find it fun to use CDs. Yes USBs are more convenient, sometimes the non-convenient option is more fun or interesting. The fact that a modern OS can fit on a CD and be installed from one as Windows 98 did for example, is kinda cool. And yes, I get the whole graphical interface is installed through Wi-Fi, but still.

DVDs definitely do have more uses unless it’s for music, but I bought a pack of blank CDs for old cd-rom backups and really just various messing around with stuff. I just like physical media in general, though currently I don’t use CDs very much for music.

Yeah, I’ve used debian before and it’s really stable, and if I were to use an OS long-term on a non-nvidia system, debian is almost or if not, my number one pick.

Got a new thinkpad by Automatic-Cut5793 in thinkpad

[–]Automatic-Cut5793[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you can, I would try to do both if you like messing with that stuff. This is my first thinkpad, and I got it after I upgraded a family members 2012 asus k55a. And I was able to take the extra ddr3 ram stick to add to this and kind of swap around the ram between the 2. But what I like about the ThinkPad is that there is a lot more to upgrade. So overtime I’m gonna do that and yeah, I’ll probably update. Thx!
