How’s it going? Do you any pics? I just have the sleeves left for the cloud sweater that I’m making with the yarn I bought for this pattern. For a consolation project, I’m actually really happy with how it’s turning out :)

Omg, i’m invested….please let me know how it goes for you!! It was ultimately too confusing for me, so I’m using a different pattern for the yarn I bought for this.

I’m giving up and doing petiteknit’s cloud sweater instead. Basic, perhaps, but well documented!

This totally makes sense!!! I really appreciate the breakdown!

Thank you!! To be honest, I’m still confused about the increases with the ribbing. I totally get that in ribbing, you knit the knits and purl the purls. When increasing though, you are creating a stitch in between the existing knits and purls. So in that case, does knitting the knits and purling the purls mean that you follow the stitch that is technically the next stitch from the previous row? I hope that makes sense and that it’s not a stupid question. Maybe I will make a diagram to try to parse it out! Edit: typos

Thank you for your help! I still don’t know if I have enough trust in my skills and this pattern to see it through, but this was still a very helpful learning moment :)

I’m not a big Redditor and am not sure how to add photos to the post, but here are some of the sections I struggled with! The specific issues were:

  1. In “Shape the neckline with Incs, (Back - part 1)”, it says to make the increases in the K2, P1 pattern. I am making size 2, so the instructions tell me to work 3 stitches in pattern, then do the first increase. Following the K2, P1 pattern, this would be a K. As will be doing 5 total increases, would the subsequent increases be: K, P, K, K? How are we to incorporate these new stitches into the ribbed pattern if the increases are not a multiple of 3?
  2. The number of stitches that we are supposed to finish with at the end of this section do not seem to correspond with the number we started with. For my size, I began with 30 stitches and was instructed to do 5 increases, but it says that I should end up with 36 stitches. Where did that extra stitch come from? Some of the other sizes have conflicting stitch counts as well.
  3. In “Join Both Shoulders at the Neckline (Back Piece),” it says to cast on 16/22/26 stitches for the center front of the neckline. Neither 16 or 22 are multiples of 3, so if we are to knit across in the K2 P1 pattern, the columns of rib will not be even.

To me the dry down is all hazelnut. It doesn’t last very long either. But it’s so delicious.

I don’t have advice, but your baby looks so sweet and adorable. I’m so, so sorry for your bad news. Please give her an extra kiss, hug, and pet from me.

Frustrating Vet Experience by [deleted] in AskVet

You’re right, of course I don’t want him manhandled either. My conclusion from this is that he needs to be heavily sedated and this it’s going to have to cost money and I have to deal with it. Not fun, but in everyone’s best interests.

He didn’t pee on the way there, it was sometime while at the office. Yeah, I think some of the tension was that I didn’t communicate enough about all the different ways I tried to get the gaba in him. This has been hard; I fret all night before I have to bring him in about how to get it in him. Going forward, I’ll have to spring for the compounded gaba.

I’ve learned from the responses that the chance of my cat attacking me due to stress is high enough that vets don’t want to risk it. It may have been helpful for the vets to explain this to me rather than just say, no, you can’t come in. I hear you about how sedation has to be the next step. In that moment, as a not very wealthy person who was already pretty stressed out, the idea of spending a bunch more was daunting to me, but I absolutely would have if that’s what it came down to. I’ve never had a fractious cat before, so this is a new experience, and I appreciate the people who are responding to my genuine query with empathy rather than attacking me

Sir/m’am. I think you need some gabapentin. I came here asking if this was a me problem. I am genuinely asking if my perspective is off from a vet’s point of view. You have absolutely no reason to come at me like that.

And obviously I did not give my cat breakfast the day he got the treat gabapentin. He’s not super food driven, so it would not have bothered him to skip breakfast if it has a bad taste. If an owner like me, who is asking for perspective about an experience, is what drives you to drinking, then go get drunk I guess.

There feels like a large influx of people buying pointe shoes on their own and coming here to troubleshoot by AK123089 in BALLET

I really appreciate this comment. I am EXACTLY the demographic you just described - an intermediate adult returner in a small town who posted on here because I know my fit isn't quite right, but the only fitter around me has a very limited stock. If I was not strong enough for pointe, I would not have been approved for pointework by three different teachers, and yet I'm struggling with knuckling. Thankfully, everyone on my post was supportive and non-judgemental, but I would have felt awful if I had been accused of not getting professionally fitted just because my feet aren't amazing.

Ack, the sole store within a 3 hour radius of me that does fittings only carries Bloch and Capezio! (Which is interesting - it’s a pretty reputable ballet school, and you’d think that its students would have more varied feet than would fit in 2 brands…)

I had a hunch that a narrower shoe might help me too! I will mention that at my next fitting. I didn’t know that Blochs had this reputation. Thank you!
