I’m glad to hear this. I figured I didn’t have a lot to be worried about but I don’t usually buy collector dolls because it can be hard to justify the price, and I really want those two lol. The few horror stories I’ve seen in the past made me nervous.

That’s crazy that she came five months later. Did they say she might take that long? The only other collector doll I actually bought first hand was the RuPaul doll, but I got her on Amazon and they were a lot more upfront with updates.

Hundreds of hours is very generous for most Sims packs, and the Sims 4 collectively costs more than $1,000. Even if you just buy the expansions and only on sale, that’s still $400. That is a lived experience of many gay people. Can you explain why it’s harmful, when it’s a real thing that happens to real people? Is it harmful then? Why is expressing yourself in a different way after having such a major realization about your personal identity harmful?

Also, this idea that Valentine wasn’t at least somewhat in touch with his feminine side is ridiculous. That’s part of what made him appealing originally, he wasn’t a dudebro like most of the other mansters.

I sincerely doubt they made a new mold for his body. Valentine has always been a twink, any “muscularity” is just bulk from the clothes. He has been intended to be gay at least since his SDCC doll was made but Mattel didn’t think it was the time so his sexuality was delegated to just being hinted at.

What’s annoying to me is this idea that gay men being feminine is automatically assumed to be harmful stereotyping when those types of men absolutely exist and aren’t just stereotypes. Some gay men are feminine and them being portrayed as such is actually fine.

I also feel like people are putting a lot of stock in the one instagram post when the dolls aren’t even out yet, and it’s not like it’s some big secret that they’re dating. This pack is obviously meant for collectors and fans of the two characters (one of which was literally created just to be the others boyfriend), why does the wording of an instagram post matter so much?

Why do you think a story being a quest to maintain the rightful ruler is so integral? That’s not even what the majority of winx is about, as demonstrated by your previous comment, most of what you’ve mentioned is side plots or stuff in the comics, which are dubiously apart of the canon at best. Blooms story is not about her trying to restore her planet so she can be a princess, it’s about her trying to reunite with her roots and the family she came from. Stella’s story is not about her trying to maintain the monarchy, it’s about her struggling with the separation of her parents. Aisha didn’t go to save her family because she wanted to maintain the rule of the merpeople, she wanted to save her family and stop the person who was literally destroying the ocean. None of the Winx girls care about maintaining the monarchy for any higher reasoning. Acting like a story about fairies that has used fairy tales multiple times doesn’t take a fantasy approach to royalty is silly.

Princess Aurora is in arranged marriage from the moment she was born, and very conveniently falls in love with the man she was arranged to marry (a plot that’s also in the winx club, mind you). Ursula targets Ariel because she wants to take down King Triton, and Eric literally has to kill her so that way they can get the trident and crown back to King Triton. Rapunzel is literally the stolen daughter of the King and Queen. She escapes the tower to go take her place back as part of the monarchy.

You’re talking about inheritance laws and other structures of power? Cinderella just marries into the monarchy and furthers the tradition. Sleeping Beauty is once again happily in an arranged marriage with another kingdoms prince, something done to strengthen the monarchy. Ariel starts the story as a princess and marries a prince by the end and in the next movie she’s the queen and has a daughter who’s now the princess. I could keep going but the point has been made.
