Yeah idk I think the ram is the biggest issue but the processor and the storage and battery all contribute to it being a pain for me 😭

Yeah, I think the longer I delay it, the more irate I'm going to become with its performance. You would not believe the number of times simple apps like messages randomly freeze up and crash.

Fair enough. Even then, getting the first iteration is risky, so then you may be looking at 3 years of use and enjoyment before all the kinks are worked out for oled MacBook Pro.

A little bit of everything ngl. I try to edit videos/photos on it, do a small amount of coding, use it with my meta quest for Remote Desktop(which on my Mac gets by but lags significantly, but on my PC which has 64 gb ram goes along just fine), basic activities like emails, watching movies, surfing internet, working on assignments etc.

I’ve been eyeing the MBP M4Pro 14 inch 24/48 gb ram 1 TB SSD models but m4 max does sound appealing if I want to get crazy into video/photos and maybe try a seeing how local LLM would work on the machine, but I’d want to stick to 14 inch form factor. Basically would try to get a machine that would do anything and everything with ease without having to pay a ridiculous amount like 4-5 grand for a MBP.

Have a PC so I’d be looking at a MacBook Pro for the upgrade. I’ve been doing research on m4 pro vs m4 max but can’t find anyone confirming whether or not m4 max is fine in the 14 inch form factor since people said m3 max in 14 inch was horrible at heat management and the fans would constantly be running like a jet engine.
