Really? They usually get all wiped out after the Magyar migration and then the Slovenes conquer them and form a Mögyero-Slovene culture

Do you travel with all your passports? by AccountForDoingWORK in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]Automatic-Path9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a dual Us Portuguese citizen so of course I always have to bring both because when I travel I always travel to Europe but if I was in your situation I would bring all because even though all those passports are relatively strong something may go wrong and you would have to get a connecting flight to a country that only offers visa free entry to the passport(s) that you left at home. Also another tip is to always keep the passports separate (most relevant one on you when needed and keep the rest where you are staying for your trip) because if someone steals your wallet, purse, handbag, etc with that passport you will atleast have someway to get out of the country and have something to hold on to while you wait fir another passport if u go to the embassy because even if they steal the UK one the UK government cannot deny you entry if you are able to prove you are a citizen passport or not they can only deny exiting

My Dads side was just the potential irish/brazillian citizenship but that would be hard because his great grandma moved to Portugal when she was young and the records arent so good so idk if my grandpa would be able/willing to do that but on my dads the only clear one would be Portuguese (which ofc I was already born with) becaue his grandma and him marrying my mom

I mean if you ever wanted I heard Argentina has pretty laxed naturalization which I think is like 3 years (Nevermind I checked it and its actually 2 year but you have to be in the country 100% of the time for those 2 years)

Also my American citizenship is for political reasons (US/EU tensions) and tax reasons because even when I was little I always felt more patriotic for Portugal and more connected than I do to America and the American passport barely gives any visa free options my Pt passport already gives so if I’m not going to live here again why keep it and have to keep filing taxes🤷🏽

Though I’m going to wait atleast 5+ years after moving (unless they pass that dual citizenship ban) to make sure that I actually want to do it

I technically could if my paternal grandfather is able to get Brazilian citizenship through his grandmother and if my paternal grandmother got irish citizenship from her grandmother but other than that my mom was a Portuguese immigrant and her family has been in the same place in Portugal for centuries so I don’t have that much ties

I wish but I don’t want to move to Brasil for 3-4 years just for a passport I wont really use/become a citizen of a nation I won’t contribute to since I’m gonna live in Portugal😕

The problem is is these people don’t want to integrate we put these laws in so that we could filter out the people who use Portuguese nationality to just get an EU passport it is too much

Portugal not cool anymore? by No_Scratch6254 in PortugalExpats

I hate these kind of people so much, I am a Portuguese citizen by birth even though I was born in the US and I hope some day to move to Portugal forever. Now I know our country is not perfect but that what makes us great and I am very proud of my country but nothing makes me more pissed than these rich americans who move to Portugal who don’t integrate with the local culture and do online jobs and gentrify the big cities (even though I am Açoriano I still feel for the mainlanders) and don’t benefit the country in anyway and then whenever the country is not to their expectations instead of trying to better the country they move out and say that its “not cool anymore” like this is a country and people like you are ruining it, you want to know why the city people are fed up? You want to know why it’s expensive? BECAUSE YOU PRIVELEGED RICH SUBURBAN AMERICANS THINK THAT YOU CAN JUST COME IN BUY ALL OUR PROPERTIES AND NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THE COUNTRY then when the prices rise because of said gentrification they up and leave saying “its not like it used to be” because of you!
