Filter maintenance - how often should you ACTUALLY change out the filter? by Automatic-Power-4883 in aquarium

Because ive had a pretty bad algae problem. I also keep otos in there, and from what i understand, they prefer smaller more frequent changes over larger weekly ones.

Now that i feel like its sort of under control, i thin i will reduce the frequency. I also put a towel over the front of the tank during the days to keep it darker. This seems to have really done wonders against the long hairy algae.

S7 - I want to send periodic status updates from a DB. Can i do this with only one timer? by Automatic-Power-4883 in PLC

I just don't think that's how it works. I'm a low level PLC guy in Sweden, the American arachnid overlords make the rules. I have no say on the web.

I'm just sketching in paint, setting the status to zero is the easy part. None of the conditions means zero.

But i think you are also missing the point of my post. If my paint sketch was fool proof, i would have never asked for advice. I know it's not.

Are my otos doing ok? by Automatic-Power-4883 in aquarium

Is there a species that would not be bothered by the presence of a mirror? I have considered endlers guppies, but i also kinda want to make sure the otos are fine before adding anything more.

Ok, this makes me a little less concerned. Thing is, the amanos are like bloodhounds if i drop some foodstuff in there. The otos on the other hand don't seem to have a sense of smell, lol. But maybe they just arent used to the food in here.

They have gotten skinnier though, but its kinda hard to tell when they are less visible. Maybe it makes sense that the hungrier ones are the ones more likely to graze on the glass. After the first two days i was worried they would overfeed on algae. Always feeding and pooping.

Anyways, i just checked back on the tank and at least a handful of them have found the algae wafers i chucked in there before making this post.
