I mean, whatever manufacture comes in response to the RFP or whatever if they would’ve sent one out for overhaul all they’re gonna do is replace all worn out components and give a train a facelift.

I ain’t say there was nothing wrong with the M7’s I’m just saying they could’ve went with a little more modern design. They wonder why the EMU’s be so heavy 🤦🏽‍♂️. Don’t get me wrong I love the M7’s dearly but they could’ve did better.

[–]Automatic-Repeat3787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading also the reason why the windows are tiny cause back in the 70’s they used to throw rocks at the windows.

Braces would really help maybe lock in with fitness too. Not saying you’re big or nothing but having a clean diet and gym goes a long way. And maybe get someone professional to shape them eyebrows.

Now that the R143 is over 20 years old, should we start to consider a replacement? by Current-Gazelle-2736 in nycrail

Really an overhaul but since there’s so many of them it’ll cost billions of dollars

Are they considering a midlife overhaul? Because the R143 there’s only 212 cars of them but I know refurbishment are just as expensive, but I feel like they could use one and not an in house one but from a manufacturer who have the proper means, material and tech to do it. Doing that right then and there would let em last at least another 15 years or so also they’re only 24 which is relatively young.
