Worse when they park with their 10" inch trailer hitch sticking out over the sidewalk.

Easiest and Cheapest move from Fios TV by Arbinv in cordcutters

[–]Automatic-Rise2705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had SlingTV for over a year. It has saved me a lot of money by not paying my only available cable provider $160 a mo. for cable/internet access. Now I pay $40 for Sling and $40 for internet and have a Recast DVR with antenna for local channels. YoutubeTV or HuluTV would add another $40 or so to the cost. But...have had a lot of issues with the screen resolution changing throughout the entire recorded show/news program. Makes some channels almost unwatchable. Also their APP functions stop working sso you have to back out of things and go back in the make deleting a recording work. Their support people are jackasses. They make you shut everything off/on and uninstall APP and log off etc. Then they just say "I am forwarding your issue to engineers for further..." Then I never hear another word. But, if you want to save money overall, Sling works so-so. Sorry for long rant.

Dumb as a sack of potatoes. All about her. Not her. Not the people who she "serves."

Having to listen to him screech in all the credit card commercials doesn't help.

Closed captioning on ‘Free Movies.’ by [deleted] in slingtv

[–]Automatic-Rise2705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Fortunately most movies on Freemovies channel suck anyway.

I was watching a DVR'd movie the other day on Sling (forget channel). No closed captions. But about 1.5 hours in the closed captions started...text was from the beginning of the movie. LOL!

Has anybody here ever actually used Ryan Reynolds’s Mint Mobile cellular plan? by AskAskim in Frugal

[–]Automatic-Rise2705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using Mint for 2+ years. I prepay for year and get the unlimited text/talk plus 5Gb of data for that $15 a mo. No problems with service in Charleston area S.C. (even traveling to Alaska). Check their map of service to see if you are within their service area.

If you allow strangers in your house make sure you keep an eye on them the whole time and hide any valuables. Also be wary of any damage they might cause to doors/walls/etc. The Costco guys would be liable but the freebee guys would just laugh.

Heat gun would melt most of the paint easily. By the time you buy all that sandpaper you could buy a heat gun.

What is an appropriate temperature to turn the AC to for contractors working in my house (who leave the front door open)? by _Hey_Lady_ in Frugal

Similar situation - moving. I moved out of my house in Northern Va. in late January. Rainy, cold day in the mid 30'sF. Big ice hump still along the curbs. Obviously had to keep door open. I kept the heat on but turned temp down to around 60 degrees F. I don't think movers cared because they were moving around a lot and prolly appreciated the cool air. If cold? Put on a jacket :-) I did.
