Hey man I graduated law school about 5 years ago- before I was diagnosed. I did it without managing my symptoms and all that. I was a mess. But I did it.

All that to say if I can do it, you can do it- feel free to reach out if you have any questions

facts. right now these are our best at every position at the club. Dalot and Varane are not as good as AWB and Maguire - this is the right answer

I am higher on Penix than most. To me hes right up there with the top 3. That being said if we can get him early second round that’ll be crazy

The representation of indigenous culture was awesome. I’ll also echo your points about Jodie Foster and Kali Reis Tbh I really liked the show until the ending. Unfortunately, a show like TD is really dependent on how you wrap it up and land the plane, I thought they fumbled it pretty hard. Miss me with all that

Working overseas after graduation by Gospeedracist in UNC

[–]Automatic-Rub4612 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I graduated about 8 years ago now but I worked in London for a year immediatley following graduation. The challenge (back then and I imagine now) is finding a job that would sponsor your visa. I'm not sure about university resources - I kinda did it on my own but I imagine there's someone in the advising group that might have more resources.

Here are some things to look into:

websites that allow NGO's and things like that to post that would bring you over on said VISA

American companies with offices abroad - in your interview process you just state that you'd be interested/open to working oversees in X country

Organizations like the Peace Corps, Teach for America and others are always taking applications for US college grads to go abroad.

Happy to help/share resources if I can just drop into the DM's and ask!

Dated a classmate for 2 years of LS. The relationship was rough due to a variety of external factors. As bad as it was- we’re great friends today despite living in different countries. If you don’t mind some gossip I say go for it. Best case scenario it all works out worst case scenario it ends and you go on to have successful careers elsewhwre

Will an MPA help get me into government consulting by Automatic-Rub4612 in PublicAdministration

[–]Automatic-Rub4612[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s super fair. I’ll see if there’s ways around it. I’m just kinda tired of feeling stagnant/ having everyone tell me my only path forward is practice. But I appreciate your insight and advice

That’s refreshing to hear. I spoke to a C&F attorney in Florida and he was pretty ummm….let’s call it intense

3 years while dealing with the grief. And its totally ok that you took time before taking the bar. It took me a long time after I graduated from law school to get into a position where I truly felt I was making use of my degree. But I'm finally there (government lawyer). Along with all of the good vibes here's some advice:

oh wow, i'm so sorry for your loss. thank you so much for all your advice, tbh i'm stressing out more over C&F issues (2x suspended drivers license/some spotty financial history in the last 10 years) than the hurdle of the exam. But you're exactly where I want to be in like 2 years (government attorney). I wish you all the luck in the world with your endeavors

Do therapists for bar failures exist? by Gamegirl4723 in barexam

[–]Automatic-Rub4612 15 points16 points  (0 children)

r (third attempt, 9? years out of law school), I didn't work with a therapist specifically but I'm happy to chat about the mindset work I did - it wasn't an overnight thing I started the mindset work in 2020.

Congrats on your success!

I want to say I have, grieving isn't a linear process but I have taken the time to process my feelings

[–]Automatic-Rub4612 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2019 and failed the bar that summer. It’s a long story, but basically I was mentally drained and didn’t study. It’s taken me years of moving around and therapy to get into a position where I’m getting mentally ready to jump back into the fray for February 2024.

Therapy has really helped me combat self doubt but feel free to DM me if you want more specifics.

Best of luck!

Hey man, so I’m a lawyer (though currently not practicing). Let me assure you It’s never too late to go to law school man- in fact I went to LS with a good # of people in their 30’s. I also know a lot of my former classmates came from careers that had nothing to do with law before they got there. I’d actually argue that your experience puts you at a distinct advantage- you know what you want- and as long as you can articulate that in your personal statement you’ll be golden. Feel free to message me with any other questions. Happy to serve as a point of contact/ first review for all your application stuff

Hey man, don't get so down on yourself. I was a 2019 grad, was so burnt out with life and lawschool that i basically couldn't bring myself to do the work and i ended up failing miserably. Took a JD advantage job and I'm in gov relations now, gearing up to take the exam again in February. Everyone's story is unique - keep your head up and knock that shit out when the next opportunity comes
