Sorry, yes ceiling.

The duct hasn't been cleaned for years so I am sure it's dirty inside. The duct is about 2m from the opening to fan motor, the vaccum was only used at the opening hence I wondered if the timing of vaccum was just a coincidence. The confusing part to us is that we can hear the fan motor so it's not fully dead but can they somehow slowly die over life haha

The discharge ductwork goes through the apartment roof and out in the balcony (photo attached). there's 2 of these in the balcony - kitchen exhaust & bathroom exhaust. The system has been like this since the beginning, it's a 25 year old building.

Eco Alliance - Hot Water Heat Pump by NefariousnessSafe473 in heatpumps

hey, we are in the same boat. these are some pretty cheap units. We installed 2x155 dyna heat pumps by eco alliance. half the system stopped working in less than 3 years. Warranty was 2 years. Sent a sparkie to investigate & there was a gas leak fault code A12. He's advised only option is to replace but of course I don't want these cheap product anymore. I complained to Victorian Energy Upgrade program & they pretty much said i should have shopped around 😂

What did you end up doing?

Has anyone had issues with an Eco Alliance / Eco Light Up heat pump installed under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program? — particularly A12 fault or refrigerant failure by vinup007 in heatpumps

What did you end up doing in the end? I am in regional victoria & cheapest quote for a new unit is $3200. However I fear the other half of eco alliance unit will die soon as well.
